Default Mac or PC or Both?
Just curious what everyone is using for their computer. Do you have a Mac, PC or are you bilingual and have both?

Hamid is so fed up with Windows we are ordering a Mac laptop so will be bilingual soon.
We have three windows machines - he fights with ALL of them when coding because we have so much stuff running all the time - it cramps Windows up often
Windows doesn't bother me and I quite like Vista...but I like Mac too...

I also like Vista Tess. I have an old G4 mac that was given to me, but I am considering getting a new one with the more up-to-date system so I can run newer software.

I'm considering getting a Mac and running Boot Camp on it with a dual-boot of the Mac OS and Windows Vista, for those few programs that I have that are Windows dependent.

I have an Mac and installed Boot Camp on it. So I the best of both worlds. I really love my Mac but when it's necessary to use the windows side because of work.

It's the best purchase we ever made. :-))

I seem to be getting more clients on Mac to that's my motivation along with the fact I'm doing more video and audio work theses days.

I'm excited about it.

I have a Mac. Just started using it about 8 months ago. I love it because it runs Windows programs too. So I am technically bilingual I completely agree with you anisemama, it is the best purchase I have ever made.

Does Boot Camp run Windows okay? That's really my only worry with buying a Mac. I have some programs that only run in Windows, and some of my contracts depend on those programs, so I can't exactly quit using them!

I thought about buying a Mac anyway, and just using the Windows machine when necessary, but it seems like it might get annoying and tedious to have to switch computers all the time! Though the extra memory might be nice. Hmmm...

I am going to be bilingual on 9/22!!! That is when my new Macbook is set to arrive. Then my dear husband is going to build me a PC desktop computer (my laptop display is on its way out).

I cannot wait!

I have Vista on my laptop and my husband has a PC running XP, which he prefers. He uses a lot of Dos programming for his business and Vista doesn't like it!

Never used Mac so I can't comment on it, but I love Windows and I am finally getting used to Vista!

I have been planning to get a Mac for quite a while and that will come into reality very soon.

I have never heard of Boot Camp, I will have to check it out. Is it expensive?

I am currently in school which requires me to use Microsoft Office to submit documents and I have zero problems. The programs are almost identical to the Microsoft version. I also run QuickBooks for Mac it works wonderfully as well. I have not run into one thing that I could do on a PC that I cannot do (better) on a Mac.

I was in the same position with contracts that depended on Windows.

Yes it runs windows fine. Just make sure it's a full version and not an upgrade.

I bought a full version of Windows XP--Home Edition with Service Pack 2 on it. A couple of months ago you could still get that at Best Buy. I have a Best Buy SKU number of you want it.

Make sure when you do the installation that your mouse and keyboard are wired rather than wireless. The windows won't recognize your wireless keyboard and mouse until everything is installed.

Basically, I ended up going back to my Apple Store and talking to one of their Geniuses, who worked me thru it. We had to install using their wired keyboard and mouse. Then we went thru the steps in preferences to recognize the wireless stuff.

Then everything worked fine!!!

If you have any other questions, let me know. :-))
