I've also heard that if it's fully charged & you're going to be working plugged in, it's better to unplug the battery. I work on a dock most of the time & really should take my battery out...but forget to most of the time!

If your computer is in use when you unplug from the electricity, make sure you put the battery back in or you'll lose what you're working on!

^ I've heard these things too. But just like you, I often forget to take out the battery pack whenever it is plugged in.

I've never heard that, about taking out the battery when it's plugged in... and can't really see myself doing that, to be honest.

But the list in the article is a great set of tips, thanks for posting this JoCarole. I've found that some laptop batteries perform better than others in general but I am really REALLY hard on my machines and in the Vaio I had previous to the one I'm working on now, the battery was dead weight in the machine after about a year. Not sure if it was my fault of the manufacturer's or both...
