Arrow Dual Monitors, Easier Than You Think! - Business Darlings
Today we are finding more and more computer users utilizing dual monitors with their systems. This is especially present in the business world. Having dual monitors allows you more screen space for your applications, reducing the need to continuously minimize and maximize your windows. The best part is, setting up dual monitors is not very difficult!

Most of today’s new desktop PC systems are equipped with both a VGA (Video Graphics Array) and DVI (Digital Video Interface) video output. (See picture below) By connecting one monitor to...Click here to read the rest of this post from Business Darlings.

I use two LCD monitors constantly at my 9-to-5. The one on the left on my desk is rotated so that it is in a 'portrait' orientation. I HIGHLY recommend this for anyone who does a lot of reading (or even just to try!). To me it is a more natural layout for reading documents or writing. The only downside is that many LCDs don't have bases that allow you to easily rotate them. You can improvise if you are handy, however... My other monitor is in 'landscape' orientation, and is better suited to my email program or anything else that benefits from being wider.

Depending on the capabilities of the computer itself, we are sometimes able to add a second video connection for far cheaper than mentioned in the blog linked. But, that depends as I said.

If you want, you can add up to 9 monitors, last time I checked. Modern Linux distro seem to work better with adding multi-monitors too, nowadays.

If you are on Windows, Google DualMonitorTools. It's free software that lets you assign hotkeys to move around windows between the monitors quickly, and even stretch a program across both (or all monitors, if you have > 2).

Sorry for the long post...I just love dual monitors!

We brought a second large-screen monitor into the office a few months ago and it has greatly increased productivity - so much so that we are looking at making space for a third!

Because I am always researching and investigating; I needed dual monitors.
I am constantly checking and surf for info and I need the capability to have search info side by side in open windows. I'm always preforming more than one search at once. Using the dual screen cut my search time in half.

Because my researching and investigating business is growing, I think I'll have to upgrade to triple screen monitors (lol). My key business is research, investigating and background checks. I need the info I receive to be side by side to check it out.

I also use the screen create Powerpoints, with sound and one without. Let just say, dual screen will help you accomplish so much more quicker. It's a tool I wouldn't go without it, I had mine now for three years.

I had never thought of it either - THEN (as has happened throughout my life) I was forced to give it a try. I was working on-site at Peoria County offices in Illinois a few months ago and was "forced" to use 2 monitors -- wow loved it (just like a million years ago I didn't want to try computer and give up typewriter.... geesh can't live without it and wonder HOW ever got along... -- uh uh showing my age!)

I have always used 2 monitors and wouldn't know how to work without it at this point. It makes it so much simpler to work. Good Idea about the 3rd Monitor Tess, too bad my desk is too small, but It is sure something I will be thinking about when my business expands.

There is a bracket that supports 3 LCDs fairly easily. It has a single pole you'd mount to your desk. There are screw mounts on the back of all LCDs (called a VESA mount). You'd remove the normal LCD stand and use the VESA screw mounts to mount them to this bracket. If you Google for "multi monitor", you'll see kinda what I mean in their first shopping link. This may help those of you who want 3 monitors but don't feel like your desk can physically support them. (I didn't want to link to a shopping site so as not to be viewed as endorsing them!)

Here's a neat gallery showing some larger multi monitor configurations. I'm sure the time savings does start to be affected by the law of diminishing returns when you start adding more monitors...but it sure does look cool!

It was suggested that I buy two monitors when I upgraded my computer system. I don't know how I would work without two now. It is certainly worth the extra expense.
