Default Card Scan CardScanner
One of my clients just gotten back from a conference and has a ton of cards from her networking and exhibiting while there. She asked me if investing in a card scanning device would be a good idea. Of course, I want to say yes under the notion that it would be better for me :-) But have any of your experienced challenges with this equipment. In particular, I'm worried that the information isn't or won't be sorted correctly when scanned in.

Any insights would be helpful.

Thanks

Tamika

I've used a card scanner, though I don't know which brand, and it was helpful. Usually it'll scan it and then ask you to verify that the info is going in the right place. I found that most times it was correct but there are some oddball cards out there that it didn't like and those you had to do by hand.

It'll still take a while as you need to verify the info but it's immeasurably easier than typing them all in by hand.

Thanks for this info. I looked at card scanners a while back. If you have that many, I'd think it would be a pretty decent investment. If nothing else, it'll definitely save your fingers...lol

I also looked at receipt scanners for work and tried to talk my boss into it, but he didn't go for that. I HATE receipts...lol

I'll look into this as well. It would be a great service to add to the contact management. I know contractors are known for keeping a boxfull of cards on them
