Default Best Ipod Deals
I'd like to purchase an Ipod so I can download webinars for training. I'm kind of clueless where to find the best prices for such an item. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm looking at a the Ipod touch or Nano.

I got mine at Walmart. You might try a Google Search and compare pricing at different sites.

Typically, Apples sets all of their prices for anywhere they are sold. Apple will lower the prices on some models right before (like the day before) they are getting ready to release new models. If you can find out if any new releases are coming then you might be able to figure out when there's going to be a price drop.

The only time I've seen them cheaper than retail is through a used seller. You might try looking on Craigslist, but be careful of scams, items that don't work, or possible stolen goods.

DH and I found an open box model 80GB Ipod Classic at Best Buy and saved like $25-30. I believe it was a return or something, but nothing is wrong with it. We used that money saved and bought a 5yr warranty in case something went wrong. I know a couple of people who have had some issues. Better safe than sorry.

If you don't need a top of the line model, why not try to buy a used one - I'd recommend eBay. People tend to buy new ones and sell their old ones - especially Apple fans - many of them always want the latest and greatest. Also check and see if people trade in their old ones at Apple stores.

I bought a used one before from EBay and didn't have such good luck with it. I have since become leary buying used electronics.

Good point about eBay Dawn. I purchased my USB foot pedal on eBay and have had good luck with it, so I thought that it might be a good option for the iPod.

Another option is to not get hung up on the Apple name and buy a less expensive mp3 player.

Don't Apple limit the amount of computers you can use any given iPod's library on? (maybe I'm wrong?) you might need to check that you can register the serial number of the iPod to your computer without the library of the previous owner before buying a second hand one? Maybe someone has just done that and can clarify that point?

I've been using this website Price Advance to automatically check for prices for competitors while I shop online. It only works with some major realtors but those are some of the places I shop.

Here's the link http://www.priceadvance.com/

I don't believe Apple Ipod prices vary from store to store, though. If all you are doing is downloading podcasts, you can buy a much less expensive mp3 player. I have one I use to download free podcasts from iTunes to listen to while I walk. It holds many podcasts and cost about $35.00. Got it at K-mart.

My son has a Nano and the only main difference, besides being fancier is that it holds more songs. But that's not a problem for me because I just delete the old podcasts and download new ones.
