Any Apple MacBookPro Users Out There?
I should have my new MacBookPro by the end of the month. It comes with Leopard. I am going to have a huge learning curve and wonder if there are any other Mac's out there and if so if you can share one tip with me I would love it!

Thanks in advance for sharing

I wish I could help you, but my Mac isn't a Pro. I took an old clamshell I won on ebay and upgraded it, gave it a bigger hard drive, more RAM, and a 10.2.1 ? operating system. I love it. I eventually bought Microsoft Office and Word for my Mac, but also use AppleWorks, which converts word files back and forth (I found this to be a major hassle though, and NOT very user friendly) I love my Mac and won't let anyone touch it! Good luck!

Hi Kim!

I've been using a MBP for about a year now. I hate mine. You'll love yours. The new ones come with hardware that is Leopard compatible and run much better. My version has lots of bugs, so I'm upgrading to a Mac Pro here in a few weeks. I'm jealous you're getting a new one!

If you need to know anything, I have become intimate (haha!) with mine and I'll be happy to share!

My first tip is to use Time Machine! Get an external drive and allow Time Machine to back up your files on it. This is a lifesaver and will really come in handy when you're handing tons of files from different clients. It's a scary thing to lose data!

My second tip...check out the forums at www.macnn.com before installing ANY update. They'll tell you if the update has bugs or not. That has saved my tail many times.

Enjoy your MBP! I'll be around if you need anything!

I've been using Macs for years now and have both a MacBook Pro and an iMac. I strongly agree with BYoung regarding using Time Machine. For the first time in my life, I backup properly. Time machine takes complete control of your backup and once you've clicked the "yes" button during the ridiculously easy setup process, you never need to think about backing up again. It's all taken care of using Apple's famous design concepts. It looks amazing!
