I have an HP Officejet J5780 All-In-One, but I'm not sure about Vista capabilities. I'm sure most anything on the market now would be compatible. My suggestion would be to compare the price of ink cartridges and number of pages printed per cartridge. HP is pretty expensive and they've made the cartridges so small they don't last very long.
For me it was also important that it also had auto-feed and that it worked with legal paper, because a lot of them don't.

I have 2 HP all in ones and they both work fine with Vista, just had to update the drivers. Off the top of my head I can't remember the models, but the ink for the one is 21 and 22 and the other is 55 and 56 Both under $100 and they serve the purpose for me!
Unfortunately, I don't have one just yet (I haven't officially opened my doors!), but have been researching these. There is one that's a Canon PIXMA MX850 and you can get it for about $220 after a mail in rebate. It has outstanding resolution, has an automatic document feeder AND does duplex. It gets good reviews from what I've read so far. It doesn't have a fax though, but for me that's ok because I don't have a landline and will use online fax services when the time comes. Sorry, I don't have a REAL review!
I have an HP3150, scan, copy, photo and print. No fax. Works fine with Vista- you just have to download the drivers from their website but the CD that comes with the printer will direct you there. I got it at Costco a couple of months ago for about $70.00. I got it before I was even thinking about setting up a VA business so it's one of the things I'd like to upgrade as soon as I can.
I'd like to get a good color laser jet though....ink jets go through so many ink cartridges so fast. Ugh.
