Default Do you follow-up with a PC only once?
I had a PC contact me two weeks ago for some information and pricing. They seemed very interested. It was the receptionist who contacted me for her boss. I sent her my pricing and contracts and haven't heard from them. So I waited a week and e-mailed following up and no answer. I'm wondering if I should follow-up again or this boarder line stalking lol

OK at some point it is stalking however, I feel that out of courtesy you should get some type of response. A 'no' I am not interested would suffice rather than being completely ignored.

Let me preface my next statement by saying that anytime a PC doesn't respond after being the one to initiate the conversation, I see a red flag. This may mean that they will ignore you in the future. Ideally, a really ideal client should be professional and respond and close out all inquiries.

Ok, so there are circumstances where that won't happen...they can't respond to you right away, but a good week is a fair timeframe and you have indeed done that.

I would follow up one more time but this time with a phone call. I would just politely confirm that the PC has received your information and ask if there is any additional information you can send to them.

You will know then what or what not to do.

I look at it this way...if I am going to spend the time researching a PC's business to give the best possible proposal, at the very least they can be courteous and say 'yea' or 'nay'. If they don't offer up a reply, then they were not worth the extra effort. Move on and work on obtaining quality clients that will respond.

A follow-up phone call makes you look efficient, not pesky. I personally would hire a VA who had some tenacity to get things done and closed out. So if you can follow up with a call, do so.

Good Luck!

Janine

I agree. One email inquiry and one phone call inquiry are good. Sometimes email is easily overlooked or moved to a lower priority.

I totally agree. Not sure if this was your approach with the first follow-up, but I almost always start off by saying I just wanted to make sure you received the items I sent...that usually gets some kind of response and makes sens since they never replied.

Best of Luck!

Thanks Ladies. Well I didn't end up following up, something tells me that the reception was just looking for my contracts and venture out on her own. A couple of hints of this:

1) She was whispering
2) She was very surpassed and caught off guard when I asked her where the company was based out of, and asked more questions about what the company did.
3) She kept mentioning my contracts, that is all she wanted was just my contracts to be sent to her. She was really pushing for them by calling and e-mailing me after I told her I would send it through.

I just find it really hard to believe that this person who was so eager for information just never responded after she got my initial e-mail and my follow up e-mail!
