I agree, it is overwhelming when you're trying to do it the "right way" (though I imagine that differs from person to person). It wasn't until I was researching this topic that I realized I've been doing VA-type work for years, just never thought to call it that. Now, to make it official!

I agree with you all. There is so much information. We must remember the resources right here at home. I totally forgot about the link as well. I wish all of you much success!

I know I can't actually get started until I have my degree but this way I can hit the ground running when I do graduate. Also check with your local agencies to see if there is any licenses that are required.
I'm also in school, but parttime in the evenings. Not to mention that I work fulltime in a law firm. Ideally, I'd like to start setting up the VA business and hopefully launch within the next two months and start slowly working as a VA in the evenings & weekends since I'm only in class on Wed this semester, but starting next semester I'm planning on taking about 3 classes I'm the hopes that I will graduate in about 2 years and hopefully by then I will have gained enough experience to maybe work as a VA parttime and work another job parttime until I'm ready to be a VA fulltime.

I say in the meantime definitely set up your site and figure what you plan on offering so when you graduate you'll be ready to start.

Hello , I'm also new and I'm working with the free workbook that is located here on the forum. It keeps you organized and focused, so far I have my niche and what type of clients I would like to work with.
I'm working on the business plan.
@WhitelaO , I was with Odesk and I didn't find it useful , they price very, very low.

I will be downloading the workbook, as I'm feeling overwhelmed at times. Can't wait to get into it!
