Shandon, I'm not on linkedin so can't answer your poll - have you considered using the VAF polling option to collect data here as well?

But, to answer your overarching question - when it comes to technology upgrades, or hiring a service I always do a TON of research. When it comes to more personal/emotional decisions (like raising rates, or letting a client go) I usually go with my gut but will often read/discuss online with other providers who might have input on my situation.

I voted.. but in all honesty its not so cut and dry for me.. its a combination of what the research says, what info I know/find, and then my gut instinct on the matter.

I tend to read a bit if I don't have enough background and then go with my gut.

I trust my instincts. Of course I don´t want to be entirely ignorant on outcome and possibility so try to inform myself by reading up on those. However, in the end it has to feel good and that is how I make my decisions.
Not sure if good business sense, but that´s how I roll.

I'd agree, it's a combo. Generally I trust my instincts, but I also like to make an informed decision and that often means research.
