Default Rebuilding my business from the ground up.
Hello All.

I am in the process of rebuilding my business. I made the difficult decision of shutting down my practice for a while and redeveloping it while I take a few courses and learn some new skills. I will be adding some services to my pratice in an effort to bring in residual income.

One of my biggest obstacles has been deciding upon a new name. My old name was long and included my real name. I was never happy with that. I think the new name should be short, sweet and straight to the point. However, I have no idea where to begin.

Where did you guys find inspiration for your names?

I too am rebuilding my business from the ground up but have chosen to keep my long, clunky name because it accurately describes what my business is about. My only problem is the initials, OOP. I would love to come up with a creative way to utilize those initials without it looking like choosing me is a mistake.

As for finding a short, sweet and straight to the point name, try brainstorming the ideas behind why you are in business. I find a Thesaurus is great for coming up with ideas for other words with the same meanings.

I would love to help you with brainstorming your new business name. I think a lot of us would. But, can you give us more detail as to what you will be doing? Or try thinking about what your favorite things are. Movies, Children, Husband, other family, typing, writing, bookkeeping, personal; anything that would help you come up with a great name.

Jenny,
I was just running your OOP dilemma through my head and thought, maybe you want to expand on the idea of "oops".
Bear with me here:
Something like " Let us handle your oops" or "Don't let an "oops" ruin your day, we'll take care of it for you" or "Oops you found us, now let us...."

Just a few that popped into my head. Might be in left field on this but that's the direction I would go.(I spend a lot of time in left field LOL)
Good Luck, I'll be curious to see what you come up with.

Christina, thanks, I love these suggestions. I think I'm going to work around the "OOPs you found us, now let us....." idea. It seems the most creative ideas always happen in left field!

I love this place. You guys are the greatest! Always willing to assist and always so cordial.

I am a true southern girl who is not embarrased by her southern accent or her louisiana ways. I grew up playing in the shade of the magnolia and pecan trees in my yard and don't have a problem being in the background. The spotlight is not something I crave. I want to incorporate all of this in my name. i want people to know I am who I am, I am comfortable and confident where I am and with what I do.
