I just bought the Become a Virtual Assistant eBook

Thanks to this great forum. I know I have completed most of the steps, but I am looking forward to jumping in to it and learning new ideas. I hope it will help with getting clients. That is where I am stuck.

I have all these great communication software on my site (online chat, online booking, fax, etc) so there is no problem with getting through to CAC. But what I am doing wrong?

I hope this book will give us some insight to that problem.

What has worked for you?

We are trying direct mail (postcards, etc), twitter, Facebook, etc, but no response yet.

It sounds to me as if you are starting out with great enthusiasm. I commend you on picking up the new eBook because I understand it has resources that can be used immediately. So kudos to you, Jamie!

I noticed from your post that you say, "there is no problem getting through to CAC' which leads me to believe that you think the clients will come to you. And they will but most of the output has to come from you, particularly in the beginning while you establish your business.

Continue with Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. Post on other people's comments regularly. Do you have a blog? I would suggest that you start one and just write about what it is you know best. Then post these links to FB and so on asking people for feedback and engaging in conversation.

If you are not on LinkedIn, open and account and start keywording for your target market. If you want to connect with real estate individuals in your area for example, by all means invite them to your network with a brief note that you would like to engage in discussion. Create a discussion question on LinkedIn and post back when someone comments.

Join LinkedIn and Facebook groups relative to your business and your target market. Offer advice without sounding like an advertisement. As time goes on, you will find that people will look at your profile and contact you.

But always start each day working as hard as you can to socialize with as many people as possible.

I guess I worded that incorrectly, I don't think clients should come to us (it would great, if they did , but I guess I just meant that there many different options to connect with us or for us to connect with clients.


We have a blog and are blogging at least once a week and are active with Twitter; still learning Facebook. But we are active in social media.

I know that direct mail is not always the answer and we are hoping for brand recognition. It would be nice if one person answered our postcard. So we will keep working on it each day. But you are right in offer advice without sounding like an advertisement.

I did too -- just downloaded my copy not long ago and have been totally blown away. This is a STEAL of a price for this wealth of information. So far, I am loving the book! Like others have mentioned it is a great book at a great price.

It is definitely a keeper in my "book" , fellow VAs you will not be disappointed at all!
