I was wondering if most VA's market their business internationally or mainly to the US. I think I would prefer to market just to the US. I'm just not sure. Especially, if bookkeeping was your niche, there would be a lot of international laws you might not be aware of in keeping someone's books. Would international bookkeeping be a good idea or not?

I have all but one stateside client and they are not bookkeeping. As you mentioned, you would need to keep up on international laws and that is just something I do not want to do. If you want to only market in the US then go for it. There are many international VA's so if you happen upon an oversees client you could refer them to others. Make your market what you are comfortable with and see where it takes you.

There are now many people in the US who have lost their jobs and turning to self-employment. This is causing more need than ever for our support.

Hi, I'm from the Philippines and the clients I get of course, are International clients. Mostly, they're located in the US but some are also in Canada. Our VA biz is concentrated on administrative and social media, so I guess we're not stepping on any laws or something.

I believe if you want to extend your services internationally, try to do extensive research on their laws to help you out with this service. Hope I helped.

How did you market yourself to Canada? I am looking to branch out overseas and I would love to chat more about this subject. Right now, I work full-time and can only start my business part-time evening and on weekends. I need to find companies overseas with a time difference where their morning is my evening.
