Goals Achieved in Planning my Business
Hello,
It has been a while since I have been on the site, but I have been working on the research and development stages of my business. I currently work full-time and I am sure many of you know how challenging it is to start your own business while working for someone else. I love a challenge, which is part of the reason I am starting my own business.
I would like to give you all an update on my VA business.
I have completed the following goals:
Research Virtual Assistant Industry
Read books on Virtual Assistant Industry
Meet with business advisor at Small Business Development Center
Contact competitors for feedback
Complete business feasibility workbook from Small Business Development Center
Complete business plan
Enter business plan competition
Set up bookkeeping and invoicing system (installed free Quickbooks simple Start 2010 on computer)
I am currently working on my company policy, marketing materials, setting up back up system for computer, seeking a trustworthy VA to cover when I am on vacation & overflow work, comparing rates for errors and omission insurance, designing website, new client welcome package, logo, business cards & stationary, making business legal, join local Chamber of Commerce, schedule networking events and setting up business bank account.
Lord willing, I will complete all of the above goals by June 30, 2010 and start marketing my business.
I appreciate everyone on this site. This site has been a great source of knowledge and inspiration about starting and operating a business in the VA industry.
I would like to thank Accu Assist for the awesome list of steps to take in starting your VA business. I also learned a lot from the book "The 2-Second Commute: Join the Exploding Ranks of Freelance Virtual Assistants".
Prayerfully, someone in the start up phase of their VA business will be encouraged and motivated by the goals and successes I have been blessed to reach so far.
