Hi

Tess thank you so much for posting. Writing a business plan is one of the items on my "to do" list which I've been putting off as I really didn't know where to start - thank you for giving me a little assistance. This is my next project.

Just a quick query though - does anyone know our market share - the size of the VA community globally? One of the questions under "Facts about your industry? Just wondering....

Cheers
Tania

Well, I did it! I finally started writing my business plan last night. I was a little overwhelmed by some of them I saw. They were so large and detailed. I am quite proud of how much I got accomplished last night. The words just seemed to flow once I got started. I'm 3/4 of the way done and it wasn't so bad.

I scheduled an appointment with the small business development center at the local college to proceed with my plans. I have a business name, tagline and website name chosen. I have most of the office equipment needed at home in my home office. I plan to start attending various chamber of commerce meetings to network and join.

Wow ~ I think I'm going to get this business up and running soon afterall. I cannot tell you how excited I am and how proud of what I've accomplished so far.

Thank you to all the people who respond to the posts for those of us trying to get started. You truly are inspiring!

Hello Ladies- I am new to the VA forum and wanted to know how you all went about securing your first client. Was it word of mouth? Your website/social marketing? OR Just plain luck? I am in the process of starting up my VA biz therefore, I dont have a complete biz plan, company name?? or a website (is it better to have a website before actually going out to find my first client)? I was thinking of setting up a few meetings with a couple of small businesses in my area and doing something like a sales pitch- show them my biz plan, the services I can provide etc. Has anyone acquired a client in this fashion?? Thanks for your feedback.
