Default Business Plan
I am finding that my business plan changes almost weekly, in a kind of organic way. What I started out trying to do has morphed into something completely different. Has anyone else had this happen?

Flexibility in your business plan is important, especially early on as you "fine tune" what you want to do. But weekly, I'm not so sure about. It's very similar to laying out a course for a road trip - change too many times and the destination takes much longer to get reach.

I'm assuming you made the changes after you found something didn't work? You can find that after just a week or so? Just thinking out loud here....

I hear you completely. My own business plan is ever-changing and evolving based on my experiences and lessons I learn as I have been in business longer. I think it's totally normal and even a positive thing to allow your business plan to be flexible - organic is a great word to describe this process!

Now, if I were ever going to want to use my business plan to apply for a loan or similar I'd need to 'clean it up' to conform to traditional standards of what a business plan should contain and how it should read - but I think for your own personal use in the day to day development of your practice, something less formal is just fine.

My business plan isn't something that I would take to the bank to get money, but more of a visual to keep me focussed on my objectives. Call it a dream or goal board, if you will. I spent a number of years in sales, and found that being a visual person, the goal board worked extremely well in keeping me motivated.
