My first few purchases were a business license and web domain/site. Next I bought some 'marble-patterned' paper and envelopes to use for marketing materials, brochures, and business cards.

I purchased a new laptop and mine couldn't really cope with the amount of files and work I was doing on it, plus I am impatient and needed something much faster

I forgot my LLC. That was the birth of Laserdog - how could I forget?

I purchased the VAF guide first. There is a lot of research to be done before diving in. Then a business license, an upgrade on my software, and phone and fax line service. Hope this helps.

My first purchase was the book Virtual Assistant The Series by Diana Ennen and Kelly Poelker. It has been very useful in helping me start my VA business.

My first purchase or investment was actually the Virtual Career Training Program through Hess Business Professionals and Associates LLC. Love it! It helped me find my niche and my place in the industry! Diane Hess is a great mentor.

Wow, I had to really put some thought into this one.

I think my very first purchase was my virtual fax line. Next was my website. Next was a glass of wine. (It was a celebratory kind of thing.) After that, it was the standard office supplies (pens, paper, cheap adding machine, etc.) Then I stopped buying things and decided that I had to "make do" with what I had for a while. I really did have everything I needed, so shopping at that point was really just "shopping" for the sake of...well, "shopping".

I did steal my son's bulletin board that he wasn't using anyway, and even though I purchased it initially, it still feels more like stolen goods, so I will not count that in this survey.
