What's your daily routine while working from home?
This question is more for the VA's that work from home and don't have another "outside" job...
Do you shower early in the morning and get dressed for work? Is your hair and make-up done?
Or, do you make your 15 second commute in your yoag pants and your hair in a jaw clip?

Re: What's your routine?
Honestly,
I get up early with my husband to get his lunch made and coffee on for both of us. When he leaves I sit at the kitchen table in my jammies and go through my morning blog/email/fav sites routine while I drink my coffee.
Usually my 5 yr old is up at this point and looking for breakfast so I take care of him and work a little here and there.
Usually a bit before lunchtime is when I can finally get showered & dressed.
Soon the little one will be gone to all-day kindergarten (he started with half days but was offered to go full day starting next wk) so I'll be able to actually get myself together earlier and maybe get to the gym on a regular basis.
Looking forward to the extra time (which I've already got a chunk tagged for my new business venture)and the quiet. I work much better when there is no noise except the water filter running in the fishtank lol.

Re: What's your routine?
Depending on the day ahead I get up between 6 am and 7:30 am. If I know that I have to be somewhere then I get up at 6 and shower. Otherwise, I get up at 7:30 am and turn on the computer so that it is ready to go when I return to it, take the dogs out and feed them. Have a cup of coffee on the back porch and then get my children up for school and COOK breakfast. My kids love a hot, home cooked meal for breakfast. We eat breakfast, and I walk my daughter to the bus stop. Then I come in and get my son ready for his school work. He is homeschooled and so we go over what he has to do for the day and I see if he has any questions and then he gets started.
Once that is done I grab a bowl of dry cheerios and something to drink and head to the computer to get started for the day. I review my to do list, I check my email, respond to anything that needs responded to, add any items that come in to my to do list, and then I get started on the tasks for the day.
I usually shower at bedtime if I do not have someplace to be in the morning or the next day. A hot shower helps me to relax so that I can get to sleep.

Re: What's your routine?
My day starts at 6:30 am waking up the hubs and son. Then I spend the next half hour drinking coffee and rallying the troops. After they are both out the door I check email, social media, the forum and blogs. I then shower (unless I need to be out of the house) and dress. Although I have to admit some Mondays I am still in jammies at lunch time.
For me personally, if I do not show and get moving in the morning I am less productive during the day. I used to get my walking and gym time in the morning but switched it up to afternoon now that the weather has changed.
I usually save running around and errands for afternoon so that it gets me out of the house during the day.

Re: What's your routine?
Oh how I wish I had a "routine"! I'm a routine-maintenance kind of girl Unfortunately my family members are all spur of the moment spontaneous so I kind of have to catch as catch can.
Luckily this is best done while they are all sleeping and (thankfully) I'm an early riser whereas they are all night owls
Since I only work part-time I try to cram all my non-work activities into my off-work days. It helps if I can keep things segregated.

Re: What's your routine?
I am usually up around 7:30 to 8:00. Coffee is ready as my husband gets up earlier. I start with email, VAF, Twitter and Facebook. Move on to blogs. Then work begins. I am usually in my pj's until just after lunch when I change and go to the gym. After that I shower and get back to work. I don't have a problem working in my pj's. Actually I get more done in the morning then I do in the afternoon. I keep my evenings free for my husband and I. Grocery shopping usually happens Friday afternoon.

I just want to add even if I do shower if I am staying home I am always in my pj's. I am a pj gal. I love my pj's. It's all about comfort for me. I know they say if you don't get cleaned up and dressed up you are not as productive, but I disagree. If I am comfortable then I am going to accomplish more.

Re: What's your routine?
Because I work PT a friend of mine suggested chunking things. It has really been nice because I can focus for a longer amount of time on one thing.

Re: What's your routine?
I'm usually up anywhere between 6:30 and 7:30 - since my step-son and husband head out of the house they get the showers first. Everyone is self-sufficient so I don't have to worry about pulling anything together for them.
Then I usually chill in the quiet for a bit, have a shower and my own breakfast. By 9am I'm at my desk and my first hour of everyday is email, blogs, social media stuff.
Then from 10am to 12:30 or so project work, then a break for 30 minutes or so and back at it. I try to focus on client work 3 days a week (Tuesday to Thursday) with Monday and Friday being flex days - meaning - Monday is kept open simply because things always happen over the weekend and I can adjust my schedule as needed. I also use Monday to plan for the week. Friday is kept open to let me do client work, my own work or simply take the day off.
I've implemented a policy of not answering client emails after 4:30pm nor do I answer client phone calls. Evenings are my time and if I schedule a day off during the week, I don't answer client calls then either.
I get dressed for work everyday, but that's usually jeans and a comfortable shirt and I keep my makeup simple because that's the way I am.
