I work part-time for two reasons. Number one is that I have another part-time job as an administrative assistant at my church. I absolutely LOVE working there, but as you can probably imagine, it doesn't pay very well. The other reason is that my kids are very active, but not old enough to drive, so I spend a lot of time running them around and only have an hour here or two hours there to work.

I also work part-time because of kids and also because I haven't quite marketed the business the way I should. That's a goal for this year!
But I think until August when my son is in pre-k 5 days a week, I will probably still work part-time.

I am currently only working 20 hours a week(I have a small child at home) but I would love to someday work full time from home.

Janine, I'm with you! I try to limit myself to 30 hours a week (6 hours a day- 5 days a week) because I have three young children. But I find myself working more than that at times. Client work and my own business development and admin stuff.

Since I've focused my services on writing I'm quite busy! Thank God! But I'm still trying to get a handle on things. I'm still trying to find my groove... I guess you could say.

I am just starting out like in the business planning stages. I have been unemployed for a few months now and I do not miss the bustle, though I do miss the income :-)

I realize now that I will have to take either a part time or full time job. Also I am apart of Arise and Convergys and thinking of doing customer service to have money coming in but at least with Arise and Convergys I have more flexibility. I can work part time or full time.

I did find a WAH position that with a company that I love and had actually signed up to do volunteer work for and found out that they were hiring. So I am applying for them.

My only concern with working full time is how do I balance the time working for someone else and building my own business?

So it is interesting that others also have full time jobs and start of with their VA business part time. It is reassuring that it can be done.

I started full time mid february 2011 and been super busy ever since. I Quit my full time job to be my own boss, but gotta say I work sometimes 60 hours a week. You work much more when you are your own boss and starting a new company.

I don't regret at all quiting my job for doing it full time.
Good luck with your decision.

I am just starting out, just got my website going last week, so do not have any clients yet. But for now, I will be part time as I do work fulltime, but it is a contract position and is up in May. Then I plan on working on making my business full time, hopefully by May I will have some clients, as I have heard it can take a few months to get a client.

Good way to get client Trudy is by going to events - association in your town, some community gathering. That's what Fabienne a well known coach suggest.

Good luck with your starting up business and welcome to the world of woman entrepreneur

Interesting Poll!

I work just under 40 hrs a week, it fits my life better. Although I feel like I am on the computer 24/7
