Default Virtual "Mailing" Address
Hi,

I have been pondering this for days. I don't want to use a PO box via my local post office unless it is a last resort.

I live too far from a UPS store so the question is does anyone use a virtual address. There are one or two services that I ran across online but the address would be in Texas for one site. Texas is far far away from me!!

My ideal is a site that gives you a virtual address that you can either a: go pick up the mail or b. have them mail it to you.

I am looking for any resources other than USPS or UPS.

Thanks!

I wish I had an answer for this, but I'm just as curious to find out more info about this as you are!

I use a PO Box but I never enter the post office to pick up my mail.

When I opened the PO Box at at the local office, I filled out a forwarding address form. All of the mail that comes into my PO Box is forwarded to my home address.

So far that has worked out well. The only item to remember is that the PO Box has to be renewed every six months or annually and the forwarding request has to either be renewed or made to be a permanent forwarding request. I believe both can be done online or through the mail but I like to visit the post office to make the renewals so I make sure I have all the details done correctly and that I receive the appropriate receipts.

Forwarding is a free service.

Janine

Ahhh Good Idea!

I did some research on PO boxes with the USPS and noticed the price difference from one PO box location to another.

If I choose this option I can have the cheaper PO box forward my mail to my home address!

Excellent!

Love you ladies!

You can try http://regus.com. They have virtual solutions.

Re: Virtual "Mailing" Address
Also, is Mailboxes, Etc. an option for you?

I just found this other resource that can also forward your mail to you (but can also scan the mail you received & view it online). They have a bunch of other services as well. http://www.earthclassmail.com/ It's worth a look, but I'm not sure if it's what you are looking for.

Good luck!

Great advice Janine, I never thought to forward my mail after getting a PO Box.

I have been teetering with this issue for weeks and decided to google it again. This thread was a lifesaver! I had searched the USPS website before for PO Boxes, but it didn't occur to me to scroll down and look for different prices.

I just found a box for $2 cheaper per month in a much nicer town (the next town over is 4 miles away and a "high rent district"). I also never considered having mail forwarded! I'm off to the PO now to get this finalized. Thank you!

I saw a service online. that receives mail, and then they will scan it for you to see online or if you need it they will mail it to you. Its like $10 a month. Just google it ans a lot will come up. I just don't want to direct link it cause I haven't used them personally.

I saw that too. I don't want someone else opening and scanning my mail though. Also my UPS Store is $10 a month, but a PO Box is only $3.80 a month so I went with that :-) Even though a po box is not a street address, so I can't get on google places with it, that's fine since I'm not restricted to servicing local businesses anyway.
