Default Interview with Mary H. Ruth
In this week's podcast I have a Virtual Assistant Interview with Mary H. Ruth of Virtual Writing and Communications to share with you. I was very excited to have a conversation with Mary. I first met Mary here on this site!

Mary is a Virtual Assistant that offers support to small businesses. One of her areas of expertise is Inbound Marketing. During our conversation we discuss her business, virtual assistance and inbound marketing.

This was so much fun to do and I am over-the-top impressed with how professional and talented Darlene is. I remember her first podcast, which she introduced shyly on the forums, and even the idea of podcasting was pretty new then.

If you haven't heard her show, do yourself a favor and give it a listen!

Great interview! Like Tess, I listened while I worked!

I like Mary's definition of a virtual assistant as 'being part of a [company's] inner circle'. I mention this because initially my own definition of a VA did not include being part of a company's 'inner circle'. I felt like the odd man/woman out when I first started...as if I was just an appendage to a client's business and not an integrated part of the whole.

However, over time I realized that by redefining the virtual assistant definition; it was then I attracted clients who would see my value in a much more positive and endearing way.

Great podcast!!! Well, I always listen to Darlene's podcasts. Been a fan for a while now. Darlene...can I download your podcasts to my iPod? I'm thinking I want to listen while I walk.

Thank you Mary and Darlene! Great interview!

Janine

Tess - VA Interviews are one my more favorite interviews to conduct

Janine - Yes, you can certainly download the audio to your iPod. You can find AVP on iTunes. Just search for A Virtual Perception podcast or Virtual Assistant Podcast. In addition, you can subscribe to the feed at www.avirtualperception.com. When a new episode airs, it will be downloaded to your podcatcher of choice.

Lee - thank you! Mary has a wealth of knowledge and is a great conversationalist. I am sure we could have talked much longer!
