Default If You Had $50...
I have a gift card of $50. It's not a lot, but hey. It was free. It is good at numerous establishments (but not everywhere). I have been thinking about using it towards something for my business, but not sure what. Thought I could get some feedback.

If you had $50 to put towards your business, what would you use it for?

Would you use it for a good VA book? There are many I would like to get.

Would you use it towards a purchase of some type of software program? I am looking at maybe a new desktop publishing program or maybe a new PrintShop one.

Would you use it towards office equipment - something new or maybe even towards ink cartridges?

Hmmm....just not sure yet.

I cannot use it to join organizations or anything like that. It is good at Amazon.com (which could be dangerous towards anything there!).

It's Sunday and I'm brainstorming ideas. LOL

Yummy! Amazon Gift Card! Well, not knowing what you already have or what you still need to have, I would say something like hardware or software. I would even go into simple "office supply", everyone likes organizers! I always think of computer upgrades first, then add-ons/ devices, then software and implementation. So, if you have been needing that ram, optical drive, or graphics card upgrade, etc. then I would go for it. But hey, that may just be the techie in speaking! Don't forget it may be a tax write off!

Think about what you need for your business, then prioritize it. Then use it for the most important thing you need for your business. Personally, I'd go for some software that will help increase my business.

I would put it toward what you really need the most. If it's a book to get your business humming or office supplies, or hardware or software. What ever you need the absolute most is what I would spend it on. I know the first thing I bought was my website, then VA the Series, then a new printer. It's all about what it is you can't do without.

And if you're an Amazon addict like me, write out your list of purchases and stick to it -- it's so easy to slide over to another the other sections and spend your money on Wants and not Needs.

Thank you, everyone! The gift card was actually given to me by my employer (ssshh!). It is limited to where you can spend it. I did see it is good over at Amazon, so that is where I may be headed. I can get lost over there, though.

I have had my business for about 7 years now, so I would like to update something one way or another - whether it's with a good VA book or whether it's for some type of computer-related equipment.

I appreciate it ALL of your responses!

Very cool I would probably not get a VA book but books that relate to my niche - or a skill I want to learn. There are so many new and GREAT social media marketing books out, I might go for one or two of those.

Let us know what you do end up getting!

I would use it on the software program because that is usually the last thing on the list. Make a priority list and determine what you would likely purchase without the gift card. Then use it for the item that you would not purchase since it will now seem like a treat and kick start you to accumulate the rest.

I would use it for something that is a tax deductible expense, and on sale! (Free money, deduction, sale =Triple score!) That would probably be toner/ink, paper (Fom Staples for points = home run!) or something really boring.

Or - maybe a well placed ad near a holiday as part of my marketing plan .....

I would recommend purchasing Michael Port's book "Book Yourself Solid". It is a great investment to learn an amazing system that will have your $50 coming back to you tenfold.

Wow! There are so many things you can use it on. Tough decision. As I am new into this I would use it on software. I could use a few software programs so I could offer more services. Or maybe office supplies, I could use some of those as well.

It is tough to decide, Rhonda. There are so many different ways to put it to use (and as you can now tell, I haven't done that yet). I am not worried about it, but I am definitely taking everybody's advice into my final decision.
