I am a binder freak and an organizing freak. I normally make a list at the beginning of the week and then in the middle of the week I make a new list with all the stuff on it that I have not marked off the beginning of the week list.

I love the tips you have given and have printed it off and posted it right in front of my desk.

I am not a paper list person myself. I just find that the piece of paper gets lost, tucked underneath something else - you know the LOST list. But I have a great program that keeps me on track.
I have not started my business yet, just in the set up stage. But I am going to utilize a CRM program - Maximizer. This program provides a place to put client information, notes on the client, and tasks that can be assigned to the client or yourself. It also has a great feature that allows you to set up your marketing plan or other plans for the whole year and on assigned days the task will pop up on your daily task list.
If you are like me with lists, a CRM program might be a good option for it keeps me on track.

Hi

Great ideas! I too use binders! I love that they make paper that has 3 holes already punched in it so that when it's important I can print it out on that and then just stick it right in my binder. Before I did that I had a filing nightmare. All these papers in the front of the binder waiting to be filed.

One thing I recently learned is the importance of being organized and making master lists. I do PR for clients and myself so I have tons of lists of places to submit PR too. I had them all in different files (usually by client). This past week or so I started combining it and I was shocked at all I had. And I had probably looked for that same place 10 times just because I didn't have it organized right. Needlesstosay, that's my top priority now.

Thanks!

Excelent advice! Thank you for sharing! I think I'll start making lists more often... I've already started my binder collection.
Cheers,

I have found that making a "goals" list every evening before retiring (as opposed to waiting until that morning) helps me focus right away. Otherwise, I spend way too much time in the morning trying to figure out what it is I should focus on. I also make lots of lists. I personally like to write things down in a notebook - I enjoy the satisfaction of physically crossing something off my to-do list.

Making a list at the end of the day is a fantastic idea! I don't know why I hadn't thought of that myself. Thanks for sharing that!

I also keep a binder, and I put everything in page protectors so that each protector has 2 sides; I organize it with the separators with color tabs that allow you to write or insert labels on them. I also keep a couple of sleeves for holding CD's.

I've taken a few time management classes, and the most important thing I got out of them was creating lists at the end of the workday for the following day. The times that I've used it, I was my most organized, but I got back into my old habit again of not using them. I think we've all received great tips over the years, but the most importsnt thing is - use them!
