I read a thread tonight on the forum about a local college who set up a new venture and the VA wants to submit a proposal. Could I get some advice how I can do this type of thing in my local area (Leeds in Yorkshire UK)? Is it a case of subscribing to local business newsletters, publications or knowing the right people or being in the right place at the right time? I'm experienced in writing proposals so I know that part, I would like to get the heads up on new projects like this which would benefit from my extensive VA/VOS services.

I'm guessing the virtual assistant you were reading about was doing a lot of research and was probably subscribed to as many blogs and newsletters related to her industry or niche as possible. It's also possible she read about the new venture on a job board or similar, or perhaps just saw the information in the news.

Thanks Tess, that's probably the case. There is a lot of publications and newsworthy bulletins in my area I can subscribe to.
