Default Feedback
So far, I have been contacted by two potential clients. One of them, I sent a trial presentation to and have not heard anything from. I even sent a follow-up email asking for feedback on what was sent or if any further information is needed.

The second one gave me amazing feedback and really let me know I am on track with my business. She's going to see how we can partner together on future projects and I couldn't be more excited!!

Right now, with me just starting, while I'm confident that I do good work, you know it helps to hear feedback, any feedback, good or bad so you can tweak and make changes as necessary. I want the other one to just say something..anything..thank you?? Is this too much to ask?

A little vent I guess...but I'm still PUMPED

Remember when you went to interview for a job and you really thought you "had it in the bag?" Or, when you sent a resume for a possible job? And, nothing, nada, nil. No response from the company at all. You don't know if they wanted to even consider you for an interview and/or hired someone after the interview.

Prospects are the same way. Some are willing to share. Others are "hunting" for the best deal (usually the cheapest) and don't care about relating to anyone else.

Your best feedback is from the client you do work for. When they answer your questionnaire, or survey, you get a true feeling of what they think about you.

This forum is a great place to vent! But, there are so many other "prospects" out there - don't let it stress you out. Write him/her off as someone who doesn't care for anyone but themselves!

Good Prospecting!!!

Thanks CJ...that is a great way to look at it, and now I don't feel so bad! That's exactly what this is, me interviewing for a position with these propects...what a great way to see things.

Thank you again!!

It's great that you're actively seeking out feedback and taking it to heart - don't let the lack of communication from some potential clients get you down, that's just business.

Be careful though, how you look at these interactions - you're NOT an employee and although I know you're just using it as an analogy here it's important to steer clear of that mindset when dealing with clients and potential clients.

You have a great attitude and wonderful spirit - keep it up!

Thanks Tess, that for me I think is going to be difficult to transition to. I still feel like I am working FOR them, hence the employee mindset. How have you been able to overcome that, or was it difficult for you at first?

I am the owner of my own business..the OWNER...hmmm...yeah...that's going to be a hurdle I'm sure! But it sure feels good!!
