Certified Internet Marketing Virtual Assistant
I found the following site on a blog: www.vaclassroom.com. It's a training course to become a Certified Internet Marketing VA. Has anyone tried this? if so, please let me know if you thought it was beneficial.

Re: Certified Internet Marketing VA
I'm in the middle of it right now and am learning a great deal about internet marketing. I don't know if there are other courses out there so can't say how it might compare to others. I just know it's been excellent for me - I knew very little about it before. Craig Cannings runs the course and I find him genuine and always helpful.

Re: Certified Internet Marketing VA
I posted a similar question about a social marketing certification offered by VAclassroom in a previous post. It got mixed reviews as to whether these certifications were necessary for being a successful VA.

Re: Certified Internet Marketing VA
I recently wrapped up training with them and I must say I found the training exciting and informative. I did the training so that I could be more savvy in in terms of promoting my own VA business. Whilst I have not yet really applied alot of the training and concepts to my own business, as originally intended, I've been busy trying to apply it to my client's.
Regarding the social marketing training, I can't say much as I have not done the training but I have heard some positive stuff about it. It is more expensive and I think what I've learned from the IMVA class has set a foundation that makes me feel this class in not a must to me, since there was a social marketing module.
All in all I'd say that it is a great training program. You can get support on the forums, Craig is very helpful and you can always ask questions at the monthly Conexions meetings. I spent less than $200 for the training and I've already earned it back so it might be something to look into provided time and finances are available.

Re: Certified Internet Marketing VA
It's a good course at a pretty affordable price. The new Social Marketing course is about twice the cost. I found it worthwhile and have been able to apply much of what I learned not only in promoting my own business but in terms of getting additional business. It provides a good thorough overview of several different areas and they have good support with monthly call in meetings, a place for feedback and help, and various additional webinars.
The certification is an additional piece that provides you with an additional way to market yourself. It's not essential to being able to say you can do internet marketing by any means. You use it for what's it worth.

Re: Certified Internet Marketing VA
I'm taking Craig's current class, and feel fortunate to have found it. I see it as a way to get it all in a nutshell. On my own, it might take months to explore all the options. And the course also suggests ways to organize your social marketing services for clients, and give them options, so I think it's pretty right-on.
Can't resist sharing with y'all Hugh MacLeod's take on the whole thing, tho. Posts for Nov. 22 and 23. Pretty funny.

The course is awesome and I would recommed it to anyone that would be benefit the the certification. If your target market is for online businesses, authors, coaches, speakers etc then you would benefit. Continuing your education is always a plus and a must when owning your own business. It will look great when prospecting the client.

I have looked at the course, but decided it was not for me. I do think it teaches some great basics, though.

Re: Certified Internet Marketing VA
I really like Craig's courses. I'm enrolled in the marketing and the social media ones and enjoy them. Thinking back about half a year ago and now: wow, how much have I learned!
I've also done the Hotskills course with Cindy and Tina and found it great, too. All stuff that I had no clue about, but now I feel more confident knowing exactly how to help the local small businesses when it comes to income generating and planning their marketing. If you don't really know what you can do online, and how to do it, you can't really give proper advice, I think. For me those course have been real eye openers.
I know it's hard to find the money for those courses, but some are really worth it. Craig, for example, goes the extramile when it comes to helping you with questions and problems. He checked out our profiles on Facebook, Linkedin, etc. and gave lots of advice on what to improve, etc.

Re: Certified Internet Marketing VA
For those of you who took this class, is anyone willing to share with me your thoughts? I want to learn about marketing as I lack the experience in blogging, seo, etc. I'm hoping this course will give me an insight so I can help my clients.
Your input is greatly appreciated!!

Re: Certified Internet Marketing VA
I'm currently taking the course and have been learning quite a bit regarding the on-line social marketing thing and have been able to put to use many of his teachings. IMHO, a good course worth taking.

Great comment. And since my target market is toward coaches, authors, speakers, as well as other VAs, perhaps I will look into the course.
Thank you for the information!

Re: Certified Internet Marketing VA
I just enrolled in the Internet Marketing course and so far it's been fantastic. I thought I knew a whole lot more than I actually do. As someone said earlier, trying to find and apply all the information contained in this course would take months so I think it will be well worth the money and time invested.
