Ahhhhhh!
Hey guys! Absolutely love this forum it has been very useful, and everyone has been great

Has anyone ever had or has the jitters! Like oh no, what am I doing? Did I make the right decision to get into this? Do I even have enough experience?

I keep bouncing back and forth, one minute I'm absolutely confident, the next minute I start doubting myself. Any advice on how to get out of my own way?

All the time! I just resolved that any time I start doubting myself, I make a (mental or verbal - depends on how much I'm freaking out) list of things that I CAN do, remind myself of the fact that I am strong, I am organized, and most of all, I am determined!

Good luck - it will all be okay. I'm in the startup phase and have been for several months, because I'm still at a j-o-b as well, but as time goes by and I make concrete plans, the Tilt-A-Whirl has turned into more of a Merry-Go-Round, and I'm confident that one day my head will stop spinning altogether, lol!

Hi
Personally I think what you are experiencing at the moment is normal for anyone just starting out. Once you get a client base started, your confidence will grow and those doubts will start to leave you. I felt exactly the same way when I started out. My business isn't totally thriving at the moment, but I don't doubt my abilities anymore, as I know I have a few clients who are very happy with the service I provide. I think it just comes down to having a client tell you their feedback for you to believe you can really do this. Good luck with your business, I am sure you will do great

Thanks for the post Lisa, as I often feel the same way as you do! When I'm in one of my 'doubting' moods, I bring myself back up with thoughts like, "You can do this", "You have these skills", "Why use these skills to line someone else's pocket when you could be yours?!", etc., etc!

I think these doubts are perfectly normal. Every time I second-guessed myself, I started thinking about WHY I wanted to do this in the first place! Worked every time.

I think you are experiencing perfectly normal emotions. Every time we step out of our comfort zone there is a certain amount of self doubt involved.

I have been fortunate enough to have had a great job that I really loved (paid really well too) and have owned a brick and mortar business (that also did really well.)

Being a VA is something that I am passionate about so I know I will succeed. Write down the reasons why you want to succeed in this business and read them every single day and you will be successful.

Best wishes in you business.

Tacking onto Jayme's comment....take those reasons and put them on the wall above your desk or on your bathroom mirror, right where they are a constant reminder of what you're doing, why you're doing it and why you'll be great at it! I've done it and it works....I guess Jack Canfield knows what he's talking about!
