Default 2009 Small Business Resource Guide
I was looking around trying to find out West Virginia's tax obligations for small businesses and came across this website that looks like it would be a great resource for anyone starting up a small business. It even has a section for teen entrepreneurs. I haven't really dug into it yet (there are lots of different levels and links) but I'm looking forward to all the information it seems to have. It does have a state section but it doesn't seem to take you to state tax laws and obligations so I'm still looking for that. However...

Stephanie, here is a link to WV business information.

I see you are in Davis, I'm just on the other side of the mountain in the Maysville/Petersburg area.

Thanks for the link and, it's so good to meet someone fairly close by...lol My ex-boyfriend's family is from Petersburg. I've been there a couple of times.

Yeah, you West Virginia girls don't get across the mountain much. But how about joining us August 22 in Richmond? How far is that for you? Check out our plans here.

I know it's a stretch, but it would be way cool if you could come!

Hi Mary, I'd love to make the trip to Richmond to meet with you all but right now the August 22nd date isn't good. BTW, a trip to Richmond is a drop in the bucket....we travel almost 150 miles just to eat at Wendy's a couple of times a week. We are so far in the sticks it isn't funny. But after being raised and living most of my life near Youngstown OH, I love the country life.

I know what you mean. It takes me close to an hour in any direction to hit the nearest Wal-Mart or fast food joint. And that's in perfect weather. Winter comes early around these parts and tends to hang around for WAY to long. It's great if you're a skiier (I can look out my bedroom window and see T'Line slopes, look out my front door, and you've got a great view of Canaan Valley's slopes) but a skiier I am definitely not...lol

Let's see... I would say that Richmond is probably about 4 or 5 hours away from me. It may be too close for me to do this time around but I'll check out the details and see if it's doable. My dad lives in Frederick, MD which is only a couple of hours from Richmond so I can always stay with him.

Check out the State of Illinois government website. I did a search on keyword taxes and got the following results in the link below.

Hope that helps
