Re: What's your title on your business card?
On my cards my title is: Founder/CEO. I founded and created my company from scratch. I want my clients to know that they are dealing with not just the owner, but the founder. And CEO is self explanatory.

Re: What's your title on your business card?
I had responded earlier that I use Owner on my business cards. But, I've been giving that some more thought. Since I'll be using it in different venues, I've decided not to use a title.
I've also taken my mailing address off the card since it's my home and I don't want a PO box address. I've just put city and state
I wish all my marketing materials were completed - but!!!

Re: What's your title on your business card?
I started with "Virtual Assistant" ... as the years passed (just a few lol). I am now Owner/Operator ... and on some correspondence I am VA/E-Business Marketing Consultant. *shrugs*

Re: What's your title on your business card?
I use "Principal, VA "on mine, as: 1) I like the word "principal," even though technically I am an LLC rather than a partnership. But "prinipal" describes me as a solely owned business, 2) I think it is important to show ownership on the business card, as that may imply a higher degree of dedication and permanence to my services, 3) In my case, "virtual assistance" is spelled out elsewhere on the card; so I indicate "VA." But again, I want "VA" in the title as well, to indicate that I -- the owner -- am delivering the service. I think that adds value.

I went with "Managing Partner". I think it gives the impression of a highly experienced, but hands on business prson.

Re: What's your title on your business card?
When you claim yourself as "owner" that really triggers an emotional response in the minds of your card readers, or clients. And it's not a good one.
If your goal is get the business of others, I've found that it's best to be humble. They want a friend who understands their need. Not a captain of a ship.
If you are a virtual assistant, then you are an assistant, not an owner of a business. Be what your customers want you to be.
Just my two cents!

I have a two sided card. My title is Outsourcing Specialist. On the back, I list what I specialize in.

Jackie, that's a very interesting perspective... one I hadn't thought of. Thanks for the extra food for thought, as I go through this process!

Re: What's your title on your business card?
I am new to the VA business myself, have another small business unrelated...One thing I have learned is that customers don't really care if your "Owner" or "CEO". What they really want is someone that can fulfill their needs, deliver a product or service in a professional way, and basically just "get er done!"
There is nothing wrong with putting your title of Owner on your cards, just don't over emphasize it, be assistant first, owner second.

Re: What's your title on your business card?
Oh, that's a great take on it. I had this struggle a few weeks ago. I have no business name, but my cards look bare without more info on it. My title? (thanks to the folks who helped me decide)

I agree with ScottyTN. I don't think people care about title's-just your ability to get the work done.

This is great advice! I think "Outsourcing Specialist" is a refreshing and to-the-point option!

Re: What's your title on your business card?
I'm dealing with the same question. I don't want people to think I'm being self-centered, however, I do want them to know that it is an actual person they will be dealing with. I'm still leaning towards going with "Owner"
