I put Owner/Virtual Assistant on mine....I think that they way they will know that I am the one who will be handling their stuff..... :-)

When I had my first business I played with titles - President, Owner, Consultant, etc. I didn't really think about it. But, in checking with some of my clients (former and current) they said that seeing a card from the Owner meant they were in contact with the person who was ultimately responsible for the quality of work the company would perform.

I guess it all goes to the old saying (adapted saying) the title is "all in the eye of the beholder!"

I thought since I started this thread, I should probably let you all know what I decided on. Nothing. I just left it at my name. I figure since my company name has virtual assistant in it that would probably be sufficient. Just an update!

I do not use a titel on my business cards as I am the business.

For other times I've needed to label myself I've used Proprietor. (Although I now like Proprietress better)

It's comforting to know I'm not the only one in a quandry over this. I did put Virtual Assistant on mine. But then I changed to Virtual Business Assistant to highlight that I provide more than just secretarial services. I've recently been toying with the idea of using Owner or Director or Proprietor.

This was a great question. I too thought a lot about the title and almost went with Principle. I changed my mind when I realized that my company name doesn't really describe my services, so I ended up with "Your HR & Administrative Specialist".

I just got my cards yesterday, so we'll see if people respond well or not...

I think that it would be OK to title yourself 'Owner' if your name is on the card. Or, if it is just a business name, no need to worry about it.
