Default Quick Business Cards!
Hi everyone,

I'm attending a SCORE all-day workshop on Saturday. I don't have formal business cards yet, since I'm still in the planning stages. I decided to make some basic cards up on my own to hand out.

I'm having great luck with the Avery free software (www.avery.com) for formatting and basic layout ideas. I bought some white clean edge cards that can easily print on both sides (#28878, formats with 8371).

Once I get them printed out, I'll post how well it did. So far this seems to be an easy, inexpensive and quick solution to my problem!

Cheers,

Do-It-Yourself is a popular option among savvy entrepreneurs - good for you for putting in the time and effort to get your cards made up in time!
Please do post back and let us know how it goes.

I've used Avery products for other things like mailing labels, etc. but never biz cards - great to know! And thanks for sharing the template number you used

I have used the business card stock and templates from Avery many times, and the end result is always great. It's not quite as nice as the professional ones, but if you are on a tight budget or for situations like the one you are heading into, it's a perfect solution. I'd love to see the end result. And best wishes for a successful networking event too!

I've used Avery built-in templates in Word and WordPerfect for years, but never ventured onto their site. They have some great things you can do, and you get to choose if you want to download the software or work it online. I love the online option; I plan on having two different laptops for business use (one with XP/Office 2003) and my newer one (Windows 7/Office 2007). Having the Avery templates and usage online will make it a lot easier to go between the two computers.

So far the cards look good, when I get them finished tomorrow night I'll put up a pic! Forecasters are predicting a winter storm for Wichita, KS (where I'm at) Friday night through Saturday, so the workshop may be canceled. If that happens, that's OK - SCORE does the workshops on a monthly basis.

Thanks for all the support and encouragement!!

Cheers,

I use Avery templates and card stock for business cards, brochure and flyers since I am on a tight budget in my business.

Maybe when I'm successful and don't have the time to print my own cards, I'll have them professional done.

Best wishes in your business.

I have used Avery for a number of projects including business cards in the past but I was warned against it if I wanted to come across with a professional look. I too am on a tight budget so I'm going to use Avery anyway. They may not be nice glossy professional cards, but they get my message out. Thanks for re-assuring me that it is OK to do things myself rather than pay for things I can't afford.
