I would looove to print my own cards - my only concerns are the weight of the paper (too thin?) and the perforations. I really liked the idea of having Kinko's/OfficeMax print and cut using my own stock. Seems like the best solution!

Hi Ladies,
I found a great website: www.businesscardstar.com . They have a variety of template options available, and it's free to sign up and use. The website is very user friendly, and you can edit your card as needed. You also have the option of free printing using Avery paper, or purchasing the template for $10.00 if you want to have it commercially printed.

I'm not sure of my logo yet, so I won't use a printing company yet. For now I will just print off a few of the "Good enough for now" cards.

The Business Card Star site looks pretty handy for those of us just starting out.

Thanks for the heads up on that!

Do you print your clients cards on your laser printer or do you send to a printer? I was just wondering how expensive it is since laser cartridges are pretty pricey

I agree re not using your employer's materials for your personal use. I enjoyed reading all of the comments as I am getting ready to make business cards again. I lost my original format as it had been done a few years ago and I had not used them (computer also had been wiped). Need new cards as I am getting ready to campaign again and planning to attend a large event. Had bought the Avery white cards and was going to format again... but not motivated. As time nears, thinking about Vista... Reading these though reminds me I like being different, having an original design and am once more getting geared up to make the extra effort - am sure it will be worth it. I had not thought about using regular cardstock and having it cut. ALSO - like the idea of perhaps taking over to Office Max and having them format... THANKS

I recently got a new set of business cards printed over at GotPrint.com. I chose their most basic features (glossy, 2 sided color) and I am impressed by the results. I ordered about 750 and with 2-day shipping it was less than $50. I think they have very decent prices, a quick turnaround and thick, sturdy cards.
I also designed mine with a white text on a black background, which is hard to print correctly because of smudging. The reason Got Print impressed me so much is because there are no smudges and everything is clear.

Good luck on your search. Hope this helps.
