Default Plastic Business Cards
I came across an Australian site that makes plastic/translucent/frosted business cards. They look amazing. I'm not sure if I can share the website details here.

I'm wondering, do you think it's worth paying the extra money to get a plastic business card. They're certainly eye catching.

Hey Lynda,

I'm pretty sure you can share the website details here!
Are they plastic like a credit card?

Here's the site.

I did see other sites that sell them, but I particularly like their range and designs. Perhaps one day I'll invest in some. I think they're gorgeous.

Very cool however is the expense worth it. One thing I have noticed especially scanning business cards with my phone and for a client is the the more complicated, the harder to scan and glean information.

I don't know if I'd go for the extra expense on these - especially with the rarity of people actually holding onto your business card once they've recorded your info in their smartphone or email contacts... they do look really neat though!

I would have to echo the other opinions voiced here. I looked at plastic buisness cards for a moment, but if you are doing it right you will be handing buisness cards over like you wouldnt imagine (for networking) and that very quickly can become very expensive. It's cool, but just not cost effective, and more often than not your cards can end up in the trash.

A client of mine had plastic business cards. He had them designed in a smoke color with silver writing and they were vertical instead of the standard horizontal. They looked awesome and were definitely a conversation piece, which helped him market his business uniqueness.

The difficulty I found when distributing them was that there is no way to write on them if you need to adjust or add info.

If you were really set on getting them, save them for a welcome packet.

Special cards might be kept longer and shown to other people because they are so unique.
