Ideas to Put on the Back of Business Cards
I recently redesigned my business card, and I got to thinking of ways that I could make my card a resource in itself so that prosects would be reminded of my services.
I decided to put a 2008 calendar on the back so it could be used as a wallet reference. There are many things that I considered putting on the back. Amongst others, they were:
-Measurement conversion chart
-US timezone chart
-Notes section
-List of holidays
I made a huge list of potentials and then tried to narrow it down to what a prospective client would probably use the most.
What would you have put on the back, if anything?

A thread on this forum also suggested putting the definition of a VA on the back of a card.

Re: Ideas to Put on the Back of Business Cards
While I think calendars and similar are a better use of space than leaving it blank I can't think of a single card I've ever kept simply because it had one on the back I think that space is best utilized toward marketing - Lisa's list on the back is perfect, as would be a tagline, a motto, a quote - something to make an impact on the receiving party and impress upon them a key feature of your business or even just educate them altogether as to what a VA is (A spunky definition of a VA would be good back there too).
It's like a mini elevator speech

Re: Ideas to Put on the Back of Business Cards
When receiving a business card from someone for their unique business, the information about the business and/or what they do (and what they can do for me) is what I look for. that would be the best addition to the business card.
Yep, I realized this AFTER I had business cards made... next time will be different. I'm now trying to decide between adding the elevator speech or a list of my best skills/what I can do for someone else.

Re: Ideas to Put on the Back of Business Cards
I like the idea of putting the VA defination on the back as well as some services offered. For biz cards that have already been printed would it be tacky to print out on labels all that and then put it on the back myself? Or I could have a new set printed out and save the others for "personalization" (ie handwritten stuff on the fly when giving out the card). What would be your suggestion?

On my business card I have a "Thank you" but after reading some of the entries above... got me thinking what a great Idea to have the meaning of a VA.
Thanks!

Re: Ideas to Put on the Back of Business Cards
Labels... agreed that it would be on the tacky side... Your idea of using the "old" business cards for "personalization" is a good one! There are many times that a business card is given out to the same party or used as a "note card". Maybe could use them as appointment cards similar to those that physician offices and such use...? Where they write your appointment on the back of their card as a reminder...?
I love your idea of the personalization! What a way to recycle!

I like the idea of listing some commonly used services on the back. Makes it cover some ideas that maybe the recipient of the card hadn't thought you could do for them.

This is what I did with my business cards. Think about this... someone you have given a card to is in a bind with their work, and could definitely use some assistance. As they're rummaging through their desk, they come across your business card. Not remembering your pitch, it simply gets tossed to the side. However, if they flip the card over and see some of your services and a small pitch, you may have just become their lifesaver.

Re: Ideas to Put on the Back of Business Cards
These are all great ideas. Thank you for sharing.
I received a business card from a real estate agent and on the back of the card is a Tip Table.
If you go out for dinner and your check is $45, you can look at the back of the card and quickly know how much to tip the waiter/waitress. There is a column for the amount of the check, an amount for a 15% tip and an amount for a 20% tip. I think I've been carrying this card around for about two years now.

I like the brief sales pitch, too.
What does anyone think about "You met me at ______" and fill in the blank when you give them the card? Tacky? Or helpful? Many times I'll get a card and look at it later and not remember why I have it or how I got it.

Wow, I like this idea a lot. Definitely something useful, and give people a reason to carry it with them everywhere, and probably show the cards to everyone else too.
Thanks for sharing
