Re: Business Cards & Other items from Vista Print
I've had some pretty good success using Vista. The only thing is that when you order large quantities, they're prices aren't very competitive. I've been using www.printinabox.com for the past year or so and I'm extremely pleased. The quality is awesome and everytime I email them thanking them for the good service, they send me super coupons. .

They are being charged each month and people have had to close out their debit cards to stop from being charged. This is not verbatim but what I remember from another forum. It was a video clip of a newcast on this. So if you order from Vistaprint please be careful what you click on because Vistaprint is not taking the charges back from what was in the newscast.

Re: Business Cards & Other items from Vista Print
They're right! I ordered my first cards from them for practically nothing and they are alright. I can't complain for the price. I used them to design my logo. I like my logo but I'm having a hard time when I blow it up, it's not very clear. That might be my fault instead of theirs, I'm not sure. They have a great selection of images and things for brochures, and I was happy with mine but I am a newbie and easily impressed by anything with my company name on it! Ha! Great for the newbie with a limited budget but I think as we grow and have more money to spend on marketing materials, shopping around might pay off. Just my two cents!

Re: Business Cards & Other items from Vista Print
It has been a while since I ordered but I recall that at the checkout time there was an option that I had to either uncheck (if I didn't want the extra services) or check, if I wanted these third party services. I am not sure but I recall having to pause and read what it was they were trying to sell me. These kinds of things can be easily overlooked at time of checkout so I can see why people would be getting billed for services they didn't initially want. I also remember that I was dissatisfied with the print on one of the products I ordered and they credited me for the item when I called customer service without a hassle.
I think that business cards can be a work in progress as I search for what works and what does not. The next time I order cards, I will order with the high gloss finish and embossed print. So the new and improved version will definitely be an upgrade because a number of people commented that they were not high grade cards and I thought that made my presentation look ho-hum.

Re: Business Cards & Other items from Vista Print
I agree with just about all of the other posts regarding Vistaprint. It is a wonderful and very inexpensive way for starters. I have gotten my business cards, brochures, promotional pens, and letterhead. All items were free (for a limited number) which was great because it allowed me to see if I was happy with the items before making a larger purchase. I also like the fact that your original order can be edited at any time before reordering. Of course, later, when everything is the way I want it I will probably order the better quality items. Also, delivery was quick which was a plus.

Re: Business Cards & Other items from Vista Print
I've had Vista Print cards in the past and I've been okay with them. Then I had professional ones done for one of my other businesses and there's such a HUGE difference! The Vista Print cards are smaller than regular size business cards, so people can tell right away how much you probably paid for the cards.
For me it's part of my image. I want to look nice and professional when I meet people and I want my business card to reflect the same image. I ended up using a company that was able to do 5,000 business cards, full color, 2 sided and UV coated for $150 plus tax. I belong to several networking groups where we carry other people's business cards with us. Then when someone is looking for a lawyer or a graphic designer I can just hand them a business card for that person instead of trying to have them write down information or get back to them later.

Re: Business Cards & Other items from Vista Print
Kim,
I like the idea of carrying others business cards, those that we know and wouldn't have a problem referring, to pass along to those that need their services.
Good idea....

Re: Business Cards & Other items from Vista Print
I bought a couple of packs of business card holders for my day planner, so it's easy to carry them around with me. Currently, I have 7 pages, each with 6 different businesses.

Re: Business Cards & Other items from Vista Print
I just received my order from VistaPrint, I created a temporary logo with them as i was working with my graphics designer finanzing my permanent logo but I needed cards quick. The cards are a lot nicer than I thought they would be , however they are smaller than normal sized cards. Will I use them again, perhaps, but I will probably bite the bullet and invest in quality cards now that my logo is complete.

Re: Business Cards & Other items from Vista Print
I used VistaPrint for my cards, but I uploaded my own design rather than using their designs. I also paid the extra for the heavy card stock. They ended up costing about $30 with shipping, but I'm quite pleased with how they came out.
Next time I'll probably go with a local printer for my cards, just because I like to buy local and that way I get to check a proof beforehand. But for needing cards in a hurry, this worked really well.
