Default Address on business card
I am getting ready to print my business cards. I was wondering if I should put an address on the business card. I have a PO box to receive business mail. I don't want to put my physical address on the business card since we work virtually and there is no need for clients to come to my house.

What does everyone else do about this?

Personally I use the business cards I have for quick reference. So I would definitely put your business mailing address on them. I think of a business card as a contact card. 'This is where to get a hold of me and my information' kind of tool.

I would agree with Kristi. Many business's have made a name for themselves with just their business card. You want people to know how to contact you...even if in this day and age, and the business we are in it is contact via snail mail

To your success!

I have always used a P.O. Box on my business cards. This is a carry over from my corporate jobs. We never used our physical address on our business cards and I agree with you. I prefer doing business either electronically, over the phone or if in person then at there place of business since I provide a service and feel there is no need in meeting in my home. If they prefer snail mail, your use of a PO Box should not be a problem unless you do not check it as promised.

I think it is a personal preference. I chose to use my P.O. Box on my business cards instead of my physical address. All of my business is done from my home and I would hate for someone to just show up at my door.

My P.O. Box is my mailing address, so that is the one I use. I would never put my home address down.

I put my address on my business cards too. Never thought about getting an address from the UPS store - good idea though.

If you are based in the UK you can have either a PO Box or I know that Regus Office Solutions also offer a postal service to members. I personally don't have an address on my cards though when I do my next print run it might be something I will consider, though I haven't been asked for it apart from my clients to send cheques etc., to.

I struggled with this issue myself. I used to have a PO Box, but it was located where I used to live and I got sick of driving there to get my mail! I did end up using my home office address on my business cards. When a potential client becomes a client, I be sure to mention that they can feel free to mail things to my home office to decrease transit time. This seems to work everytime for me!

You should have your address on your business card. It's a tool you should use to sell yourself, people need to know where you are based.

You may even find you receive more referrals by doing so

On my business card I just put the city and state. Since this is out of my home, I dont want to give my address out to everyone I meet. If they want to work with me, then I will give them everything.

I used to have a PO Box, but people get scared especially when doing business online or over the phone, from my experience, it brings confidence to put a real address (home or office), I know I'd rather work with someone who has a physical address rather than a PO Box.
I don't know where you get your cards, but I recently got some very unusual mini cards from a company in California (myminicards.com) that allows you to print a different image on each card, I get excellent feedbacks when giving my cards out and people tend to remember me as they always ask me where I got them, which is an excellent opportunity to talk about my services more in details! Plus the cards are not expensive at all for only $18.99
I know giving a home address might be scary or inconvenient but it depends how you market (guerilla marketing or very targeted).
Good luck!
