Hey everyone! I just got done with creating my brochure. I was just curious to see what other brochures for VAs look like out there so I figured I would start a thread for those who would like to show off their brochures and get critiques, etc Also, I think it would be nice to see how many are creating their own versus having someone off-site create the brochure for them.

Beautifully done! You really get things done, don't you? One little thing I might suggest is to change the word "goal" to "mission" just to make it a little more powerful. It would be ideal if you could have 1 or 3 testimonial(s) (odd numbers). I don't know where you would put them.

Fantastic job Shandon.

It looks really professional and if you can save it down to a PDF for publishing online you should get a lot of success with it. (It currently runs at over 8Mb to download so a smaller file size would be better).

Two very minor points on the content:

1. In your "about us" be careful of first- second- and third- person verbs and adjectives. In the first paragraph you refer to Shandon in the third person as though the writer is detached from the subject but then you start the next paragaph with "Our goal..." which is very much first person and direct. In your Q&A you refer to "we" providing the solution to your customer's requirements so I would stick to first person (just try not to begin every paragraph with "I").

2. Re: "I have a specific research project that is not listed in your services, can The Research Ace still help my company?" I think it should be a semi-colon rather than a comma as you have two complete statements/questions within the sentence; a comma would be used if you were continuing a list or theme.

Even as it stands I bet you get lots of work from people less pedantic than me (or should that be less pedantic than I?) And should that question mark go inside the bracket or outside...

The apostrophe that you saw was actually a comma from the above "Our value". I just avoided it all together and made it a complete sentence.

Again, I appreciate the criticism and don't worry I always think of criticism as constructive (I definitely don't take it personal). It is all a learning experience and it's great to get input from others in order to get the best document out there that I can

I wish I could add some testimonials, however, I only have one client at the moment. I will be asking for a testimonial quite soon though!

A very good flyer Shandon, keeps well within your theme except that I do not see your Ace there. Just my thoughts but I would replace your logo for the one with the woman holding the 4 aces.

I have a brochure but I am not sure how to link it. I do have it on my website under portfolio. If someone could let me know how to link, I created a PDF file, I will post it here.

I like the brochure, to the point, crisp.

Nancy, I think all you would have to do is link the page from your portfolio. I tried to get it to upload on here and mine was too big so I had to just settle for linking it. Is the one you have up your most recent one? (I think it is the 3rd one in on your portfolio?)
