My catchy name is "Software Savvy Sub" Probably kind of geeky but hey, it works

My title? Virtual Assistant. It's designed like a sub-heading right under my name.

When I give away my business cards to local people, just as soon as they see the word VA they would ask, "What's that?" That's my instant opportunity to practice the 30-seconds elevator speech.

On the back of my biz card is a list of 9 things I can do for a client and the words "Notes:" Half of the back is blank under the 'Notes:" so they can write notes! I had the back completely filled with a list of my services, but at a seminar I attended called How to Start a Business, the lecturer liked my card except he said that people write on the backs, so I compromised and only filled half the back.

Good Luck!

The 9 things you can do for client is super - and the note area too - thanks for that idea.

Right now I have Consultant and Virtual Business Professional under that. As Tess mentioned Cranium I wanted to add that I fell into a chat or something, somewhere with google people and their titles were things like "Rock Star" and "Chief Handshaker".

I really like the Chief Virtual Officer as well. I went with Proprietress - what I felt was something a little different, but also conveyed the fact of being owner/founder.

For the most part I use owner, but for certain situations I have put VA. It just depends and I have had business cards made a few times, but like what I did with my last set which included VA.

My question is how many think you should go strictly formal business and how many think you should have a little fun with your title? Of course being a guy in this business opens up a new area because I don't know many ladies that can use mine. TMM

I am somewhere in the middle on the formal/fun discussion. I have an old fashioned business ethic - the whole "you wear dress clothes to work and no open toes or sandels to work" kind of lady so I am a bit uptight about this. My website will have a professional photo of me and then my blog or newsletter will be a little more laid back with a picture of me and my dogs. Same thing for my title - on the pages other than the blog I will be listed as the owner but on my blog I may be listed as the chick in charge or something a little more fun like that. ;0)

VirtualAssistant,
That sounds like a great combination! Formal on the business side and laid back on the blog/newsletter. Sounds like it will work good for you mixing formal and fun! Best of success!

I don't have my business cards yet, but I love all these great ideas! I was also planning on putting a short list of what I can do for my clients on the back, now I'll have to think about the notes.

I'm all about making my business very professional but also a bit edgy and modern. I'm hoping to score some really amazing business cards that are unique. I'm getting so excited about this part of the business planning!

OMG! the things I haven't thought about. I have Virtual Office Assistant, I never even thought about the importance of making myself stand out as the Proprietress. Thanks for the ideas, back to the drawing board.

I'm thinking of putting "Owner" on my business cards. "Virtual Assistant" doesn't really apply to me as I will be working part time at my client's offices as well as from my home office.

I use President / Virtual Assistant. My company is a corporation, so I use President. I also put Virtual Assistant, so PCs know that I also do the actual virtual work.

Best Wishes,
Julie

I used Managing Partner (I guess from spending a lifetime in international law firms) but I've changed it to "Founder". Being a little older (I said "a little" lol) and in tune with a new picture from a recent professional photoshoot, it's more appropriate for me.
