Default What do you think of my business name..?
Hello! New member here!
My name's Tiwanna. I have been doing freelance administrative work for a few years now. The name I have been using the past couple of years is "Typ-O" tagline: "As in OUTSTANDING!" What do you ladies think? Any tips or suggestions? Also, my work focuses on typing-related/word-processing projects.

Hi Tiwanna,

I really like the name Typ-O and I think it fits in so well with your services. The only issue I would see is that you may need to always use a tagline with it, so it's clear that the O stands for outstanding. Then again, it might make people curious.

Here are some other ideas for your tagline:
Your Outstanding Typist
Always Outstanding Work
Typing that's Outstanding

Have you created a logo yet? I bet you could have fun coming up with something creative.

Thank you! Yeah, I can see what you mean about always needing to use a tagline with it. I also appreciate your other ideas.
I created a logo once, but for the life of me I cannot remember exactly what it was or where I had it. :-p I need to do a serious treasure hunt to find it!

I would really like your company name...with the tagline just to support it...if it is on absolutely everything and said very short and concisely when out networking. It adds some interest. The problem that I'm having with the name is the spelling. Without the "e" on the end, it becomes pronounced TIP...and the "O"...then makes it sound like the politician's name. Tip O'Neill (sp?).

I think I get that you may have purposely "made a typo"...but I'm not sure everyone would...and it may be taken that you actually DID have a typo...so they wouldn't want you touching their stuff.

It's like copywriters who have bad grammar and typos on their website. I know I was looking at adding someone to my resource list recently and I decided not to because of the mistakes on their site. I wouldn't be able to refer them.

HTH & HTMS... :-) Just my 2 cents.

Tiwanna

I'm going to take you off at a totally different angle.

I agree that Typ-O might be miscontrued typo; I like your name Tiwanna; and you handle mainly documentaion, so I suggest:

Tiwanna's Docs-O with Tagline: Outstanding documentation at your (or from our) Fingertips.

Let's hear what our VA colleagues think.

Hi Tiwanna, I quite like Typ-O but I think you need a more professional tagline. Also using the name Typ-O may restrict you further down the line when you decide you want to introduce new services that are unrelated to typing tasks.

Hello again! It has been a while... but I'm still working on this name and tagline...
I like many of your ideas and appreciate your feedback.
Here are the names and taglines I have right now:
"Typ-O, Outstanding Typing Services and More"
"Typ-O, Outstanding Administrative Services"

What do you think? Open to more ideas and suggestions! Also, do you feel that I should spell out "Type-O" or leave it as "Typ-O"?

I think you should add the e. Upon first look it did not make sense and did look like a typo. I think because of the hyphen. Type-O still has the same feel I think you are looking for but without it seeming like there is an error on your name.

Also, I would use Outstanding Administrative Services of the two since the first makes it seem as if you are a typing service instead of offering administrative services.

@readyornot: I agree. By branding your business and tagline as typing only, you set limits on what you can do down the road. Also, and I mentioned this in a different thread, if you take the tagline away from the company name, does it make sense when it stands alone? "Typ-O". Will the tagline be on 100% of your business documents, like your business checks? If so, then your company name suddenly becomes too long. "Type-O as in OUTSTANDING".

Hmm...

I like the play on words, I like how it flows, but I'm not sure the company name on its own conveys enough. And there are the limits you'll be putting on your business. People have given you some good suggestions. I like your name Tiwanna and my first thought was to rhyme with it. "You wanna work with Tiwanna", but that may not be professional enough. :^)
