Default What about a Name Change?
Most of you know..I'm in the process of writing content for my website. I have been doing all kinds of research, digging deep and finding all kinds of terms and WORDS that I didnt even know existed. So, I stumbled upon a Name for my business that would be perfect for my brand and Tagline. My question is - Is it too late in the game now? How hard would it be? How much trouble would it be? My current name is/was/going to be Virtually Assisting You. But, I really like Country Collaborations, Inc. Just popped into my head today while doing my writing and thought it fit my design so well..

Oh, What about my email address that is already myname@VAY.com, that I have already paid for? Would I lose that or would godaddy transfer?

Thanks in Advance for your thoughts on this!

Kena,

First, considering I know a little bit about the design you are having done for your VA site and knowing you -- I think Country Collaborations, Inc. is a great fit.

As far as, your website and domain name go. Have you established yourself online with your VAY email and name? If so, there really isn't any harm in keeping the domain name/email address and just forwarding both to your new domain name and email. You can setup forwarding right from the Manage My Domains panel on GoDaddy.com and forward email in the same manner (under the Manage email section).

One other thing, the Inc. part of your new name -- do you plan on incorporating your business? I think the Inc. designation is for businesses that incorporate, but I could be wrong (someone care to verify that?).

Don't forget, if you registered your business already (county, state, etc) you will have to make the necessary name changes with them too.

There are so many possibilities with creating a tag line for the new name too. I like it

Hi Guys- If I am not mistaken you are right! In order to use the Inc. you do need to be incorporated. BTW, I like the new name too!

Kena,

Darlene and Darcee are right, you need to be incorporated to use the INC. I like the name and am so curious to see what your tagline(s) are.

You could use Country Collaborations - Virtually Assisting You until your clients get comfy with your new name and then just drop the VAY part. (my 2 cents only)

I don't know how much you've done under your current name, but aside from that, I switched all my site content over from firstdomain.com to seconddomain.com in about ten seconds. Actually, Dreamhost did it for me. The email thing was just as easy.

Hmmm I think Darlene summed up everything I was thinking about as I was reading your post. I am curious to see if anyone has anything else to add.

I'm changing my name from Letters for Words to Wendy Works Office Solutions. I'm using the same website and am in the process of changing all the names and contact information everywhere including here. I wonder if that's the right way to go or should I just start from the beginning and delete the old LFW account.
