Default still stuck on business name
Hi Everybody,

I'm in the late stages of finalizing the name of my business. I currently work full time as a real estate paralegal and know that once my business launches, I plan on offering paralegal services and other administrative assistance as well. I am torn on whether I want to have the word "paralegal" in my business name or if I should keep the name simple.

Here are some of the few I'm considering:

- Starfire Paralegal Services
- Starfire Business Services
- Starfire Office Solutions

I would appreciate any advice/comments. I really liked "Starfire Paralegal Services" but I'm worried that the name states I only offer paralegal services, when I will be offering a wide range of administrative/secretarial services, so I'm thinking I need to take "paralegal" out.

Thanks in advance for everyone's assistance

Denyse,

If I were you I would choose a business name that does not include the word paralegal. As you stated prospective clients may think that you only offer paralegal services. Which is not the case for your business. You will be offering other services as well.

Therefore, I would choose one of the other names. I like Starfire Business Services. It tells prospective clients that you offer more than one service. Which is what you want.

Hope that this helps!

Good Luck!!

I like Starfire Office Solutions. I agree not to use Paralegal in your business name because you don't want to limit yourself to just paralegal services. Also, if in the future you decide to go a different direction and not do paralegal services, Starfire Office Solutions or Starfire Business Services make it easier to change your services without having to change your name.

I have to agree with the ladies on this. Starfire Office Solutions, Starfire Business Services, and/or Surefire Business Support (just my suggestion for another name to choose from lol) Are all about supporting any type of business and if that is what you want then go for it.

Good Luck~

I agree with the ladies, too. If you are not just offering paralegal services, then I wouldn't put the word in there. Plus, it will limit you in the future in case (for some reason) you were to steer away from offering that service. Make sense? I like your other choices for names, though.

I also agree to keep paralegal out of your business name. When I choose my business name, I also did not want virtual or administrative in the name because I thought it would limit my ability to "grow" or adjust my services as my business developed. I like Starfish Office Solutions because it will give you that flexibility.

I am not sure that my name is suitable but I really want to keep it - various reasons which I may go into one day but I think it is a personal thing advice is useful but in the end it is one's own decision I think.

I agree with the previous comments, using Surefire Business Services allows a larger segment of prospects to instantly compute that you can assist them with their business.

If you want to appeal to customers interested in your paralegal services consider doing target marketing to that consumer base to ensure they know you offer paralegal services

Hope that helps

Thanks everyone Everyone's comments were very helpful. I agree that taking "paralegal" out of my business name is necessary. I am really learning towards "Starfire Business Support".

My suggestion: Starfire Business Solutions

I like 'business' over 'office' because I think it has a broader scope. And I like the word "solutions" as it conjures someone who can solve problems.

Just my 2¢.
