Default Re-branding
After almost two years of business, I have decided to re-brand. We are planning to move to a town a little to the north of my current town in 2009 and I decided that my business name Oakville Admin was too localized. I also have clients in more than one town/city so I decided to register Prime Admin Solutions.

I'm working on a new website, have the main page and contact page up and running and will slowly be adding more pages as the days go by. I'm also learning about Dot Net Nuke, as I'm doing my new web site with it - which is really exciting.

The plan to re-brand now is to give myself time to get the new site in search engines by the spring.

Julia - Not easy to re-brand. I'll be very interested to see how it goes, and if there are any hitches or can it be done relatively smoothly. Good luck!

Hi Julia!

What an interesting concept! My hometown is included in my email, blogspot, username, etc. and although I want to purchase a domain name and setup a website - I am reluctant to do so.

The reason being is that I plan to move away from my local area in about a year or so. Let me know how the re-brand process works for you. Looking forward to it! Have a great day!

I'm keeping my Oakville Admin website up and running as there are so many links to it and my home page redirects to Prime Admin Solutions. Unfortunately there was going to be an issue if we moved anyway because I couldn't keep my phone current phone number and callers would only be notified of the changed number for 3 months so there would have been issues whether I re-branded or not. Now is also the right time to do it because the new phone directories will be out early in 2009, so I set up a single number reach telephone number that can be reached from Oakville, Georgetown and anywhere else local to Toronto with no long distance charges. I also took the opportunity to get a toll-free number (an extra $8.00/month and 5 cents per minute) at the same time.

Hopefully it will go smoothly. I'm advising current clients of the change now and need to talk to the Bank to set up the account to accept cheques made payable to Prime Admin Solutions. My clients are supportive of it and like the name.

I'm loving my new website - it was so cool to be able to do it in Dot Net Nuke! The only thing I don't like is the login showing on the page, but I'm going to contact the manufacturer and see if they'll take that out of the skin for a small cost. If it's too expensive, I'll just keep it. It's a service I can offer to clients now too The content management aspects of it are great because it would allow the clients to do their own updates if they want.

I think your decision is a wise one Julia. I love everything about it especially your new website. It's hip, it's now, it's awesome. Great job and congrats on making such a bold but necessary decision.
