Default New Name and Tagline
Hello Everyone!

I have recently begun to start the process of renaming my business. I have already cycled through two names, "Valaxy Business Support Services" and the tagline was "Giving You Time to Reach for the Stars" and "Period Business Support Services" - one of which I had since I started on the forum. The original, "Valaxy", was supposed to be a play off of the word "galaxy" but with a VA to emphasize the virtual assistant aspect. I came up with the second, "Period," based off of a tagline that I had thought about, "Defining Your Success. Period."

My target market is between helping real estate professionals or assisting with bankruptcies, and of course general admin services. It has been almost 8 or 9 months since the original and I have researched this ad nauseaum. I am still struggling with this issue and numerous people have rejected both of the above names and I need some new perspectives on this. I have come up with a list of names, some with taglines and some without, that I would like some opinions on...

1) SOAR Business Support Services - "Taking Your Business to New Heights"
I do consider this to be my favorite. After sitting down I had written out "Succeed Over Any Rejection" and after studying it I realized that the acronym was "SOAR," which I loved and I feel I have a personal connection to.

2) Biz Stream Support Services

3) Show Biz Business Solutions - "There's No Business like YOUR Business"

4) Champion business Support Services

5) Early Bird Business Support - "Rising For You" or "Starting Your Day Before You Do"

6) Runaway Business Support Services - "Helping You Escape", "Helping You Escape the Tedious", "Escape the Everyday", "We're The Efficient Escape", "The Efficient Escape"

7) Task Force Business Solutions - "Helping Your Business Be All It Can Be"

8) 1st Class Business Support Services

9) Achieve Business Support Services

10)Turnkey Business Support Solutions - "Efficiency Is Key"

11) All Biz Support Services

12) TransAct Business Support Services

These are just some of the ones that I thought of that were not already taken! I would really like to narrow it down to at least 3-5 and then go from there. I apologize for the really long post but I am now getting a little desperate

Thanks everyone in advance!

It is so awesome to see how much work and thought you've already put into this! Kudos for you! Ok...here goes.

First I think there are some amazing ideas you've presented!

What I want to say upfront is that with each of them I personally would perhaps steer away from anything that says "support services." Support specialist, perhaps, because it gives more of a professional, higher skill and knowledge level feel.

1) I like Soar! I'm assuming the phrase that you got the acronym from would remain an internal thing for you?
2) Left me feeling a little flat on that one.
3) I like #3 except that I don't think you are in that industry...so it doesn't seem to fit and would be confusing to your audience.
4) Champion is good...but then it reminds me of the people who do windows...or has a feeling like it more belongs with a remodeling or general contractor. However, it could be perfect then, if men are your target market.
5) NO...sorry...just no. :-) LOL...
6) Have to watch what people will envision. Runaway...first thing my mind goes to is that you're gonna run away. The tagline explains it, but not sure I'd look much further than the first word. Yikes!!
7) I love it!!!! Again...depends on your target market. I'm not sure it fits if most of your market is women personal coaches, for example...but in general I think it's great!
8 )Really...first class isn't taken? Never would have guessed. I like this one, but let me throw in an extra 2 cents. When I first started out I had a line of business called 3rd Day Events. I was FOREVER having to say "it is the number 3...then "'rd!'" You will always be saying "it's first with the #1...not spelled out."
9) Achieve is an awesome one. It says a lot in one word!!! Change the ending to either what I suggested above, or to Business Solutions and that one would be perfect. It's not over used...and for me it even tops Soar.
10) I personally love #10...but then that's what my business uses...so you can't steal that. LOL. It's not my company name - but it's my theme. Tee hee...just kidding. I doubt I'm the only one who uses that term.
11) It's ok...
12) That one confuses me because I don't know what it means. My first thought is it is a check verification service...or something similar and financial related.

Hope all this helps!!! All my best in your endeavor! It's no fun feat - which is why I gave up when I recently reorganized and decided to just use a personal brand. I want plenty of room to grow - so now I'm not limited and it's one less headache for me.

Hope you'll post back when you decide!

Hi Pam thank you so much for your input! I really think that SOAR emphasizes exactly what I want to do in the future - and also what I want my future clients to identify with. I would definitely keep the acronym as something internal, unless it was for a press release etc. I really love it and I hope that is an indication of how well it will go over with others, especially since I was only so-so about the other names. Also, I did feel as though "Business Support Services" was something that might need to be changed also, hence some of them say "Business Solutions." I totally see your point there!

I am still going to think about it though and compare it to two of the other options Task Force and Achieve...that way I am not just jumping into anything. I have already registered one domain name and had a graphic designer create a logo - lol and doing that over and over can start to get expensive.

Once again I appreciate your thorough response!

I love Valaxy and I also like the tagline "Taking Your Business to New Heights" with this one. I see this as an idea that you are reaching far beyond the stars/universe. Good luck!!

Your Valaxy name is super catchy and I like your tagline "Giving You Time to Reach for the Stars". You should stick with that. You definitely should NOT use Period Business Support Services, because honestly, it makes me think of that time of the month.

Thanks ladies! Unfortunately I have decided to get rid of "Valaxy", especially since I spend a lot of time explaining to others what the name means. So although I still think the name is super catchy, it just isn't something that translates across the board.

Paulette, I will keep the tagline "Taking Your Business To New Heights," with the new name I have chosen, "Soar Business Solutions." I think it is the strongest one from above and will also serve me well with future clients.

Thank you for the encouragement and I appreciate your responses so much!

I'm in agreement with Paulette over not using Period Business Support Services, and for the same reason.

I love SOAR and the tagline "Taking Your Business to New Heights". You could have fun coming up with a logo for this one too.

I think you'e come up with a great new name. And, since I am sort of in the same situation, since I am in the process of re-starting my business, I can really appreciate the time and thought process that goes into all this. I was never really satisfied with my original business name and will be going through the same thing.

Thanks! Your responses have made me feel much more confident in moving forward. Also I am now in the process of thinking of logo ideas, which is much more fun than figuring out a new name lol. Whenever I have finished some of the new ideas I will post them!
