Hi,
I've been a VA for over 2.5 years but never had a website or used my name that I had to select when I applied for an EIN number.
I chose 'The Virtual Wizard' never thinking I'd need to use it.
Now I am getting ready to go BIG, so I need to solidify the name.
When I went to Go Daddy to buy the domain, it was taken. YourVirtualWizard.com is not taken so I was thinking I might buy it.
I chose this name hapazardly...my cat is named Wizard and I have been called a Wizard when I have completed work for clients. I chose Virtual to narrow down the type of work I do. I also think I can create a wizard logo in photoshop that I can begin to brand myself.
What do you think of Your Virtual Wizard as the business name?
Is it too corny? I didn't want to use my own name because that said little about what I do.
One more question...should I buy my name.com ? Go Daddy offers that option and no one has my name or is it too soon to make that decision?
Jan,
I like that name and like the idea of a wizard for your logo. I actually like your virtual wizard the best. If you are sure you want to use this as your name I would obtain the URL for your web site.

Hi Jan,
I would say absolutely have your own domain name. This will benefit you and your business by having a web site and in branding your name to potential clients.

I think the ones like 'angel', 'goddess', 'legend', etc really impress on your clients (or potential clients) how good you are and how much experience you have!
I love the idea for your logo too! Good thinking 99!
Hi Deb, Thanks. I purchased the domain so now I am working on the website. I'm having trouble finding a pre-made wizard hat on several of the picture stock sites, so I'm taking an Adobe course to make my own. I'll post that here for some critique.
