I have been working on a name for my new adventure, but I'm hitting a wall here. I have a few of ideas kicking around, but I keep finding things that could be wrong with them.
Here are a few of my issues:
--I keep coming back to "office solutions" because I dont think I want to use "assistant". If all goes well, in the future I would like to add services that might not fit that.
--I had "remote" in one idea as an alternative to virtual. I friend said that might make it seem like I'm unreachable. I am in Canada, but with internet everyone is reachable, right??
--I had my initials (AP) in one idea and was thinking of playing on that with other related words (ex:affordable,practical)
--I think my name, site, email should all be the same, or as close a I can get it.
Any thoughts or advice on these issues would be appreciated!!

I am also struggling with the name. I have gone thru a ton of them.

remote: sounds techy to me.

Like you I want to choose a name that is like an umbrella and can still hold up if I venture into other areas such as computer repair and security which my brother is into.

I, too, am working on the name thing. It's frustrating at times. I agree, I don't much care for the assistant in the title (only because it's really prevalent) and I want matching names for my business and site as well.

I think you should visualize what direction you want to take your business and as long as it doesn't alienate your current service offerings, name it based on that.

Choosing a name is hard. One suggestion I have is to take some key words of interest that you would like to use and then use a thesaurus to come up with different words. It might help to jump-start your mind into thinking of additional names.

If you are thinking of taking your business into a different direction down the line, I would make sure you do not choose something that will limit you.

Well, the world kind of choose for me the other day!! My friend and I were working on my website and most of the names we came up with were already taken! She likes to call me Super Amy, we had fun with tag lines and images with that one...but it was just for fun. Went with Porter Office Solutions. It was available, easy to remember and straight forward with what I will offer. I was having a hard time and couldn't get past coming up with a name. Now that I have, things seem to be moving along pretty fast.
