Hi all. I'm just in the beginning stages of planning my VA business and need to pick a name for my company. I want a name that does not have business, administrative, or virtual in it because someday I hope my husband could put a print consulting/brokering business underneath the umbrella. Also, I make bread and sell it and do some small scale catering, so I'd like something that would fit with those businesses as well.

I have two different directions I could go in.

The first name, Panda Mountain Enterprises (with my VA division being Panda Mountain Business Solutions), I love because I love pandas and mountains. I had a great logo concept. Of course, it does not in any way have much to do with me personally nor does it describe what I do. And my husband says that in relation to food, it sounds like a Chinese restaurant.

The second name is Nine Kings Enterprises (VA division-Nine Kings Professional Solutions). I have seven children so we have nine Kings in our family. I like that it ties into my family and maybe someday my children will also have businesses under that group.

What do you all think? My gut is that I like Panda Mountain but that Nine Kings makes more sense. Both have available domains.

I agree with your husband that Panda Mountain Enterprises sounds like a chinese restaurant. I would go with Nine Kings as you might have an easier time coming up with a tagline and logo with the kings, royalty or crown themes. Good luck. Let us know what you decided.

I agree with Pam on the Nine Kings name. Another consideration is the length of the name. Remember you will have to be typing all the letters to get to your website, etc. You could have the VA part of the business as a d/b/a name. Nine Kings Pro Solutions as a subsidiary of the Nine Kings Enterprises. Good luck!

My head knows that Nine Kings is probably better, but my heart does not want to let go of the Panda Mountain because I like pandas so much and I have a logo in mind already. But I will continue to pray and think about it. Maybe I'll come up with something else.

I decided to name my company DMK Virtual Solutions. It just made the most sense and the domain is available. Thanks for your input.

When you search for Nine Kings you get 31,000,000 results on google. When thinking about your web presence most pick a name that will not have this much competition on the web and be easier to get on the first page. Good choice with going with DMK Virtual Solutions.

Thanks! I didn't even think of checking Google. I guess God was directing me. LOL I still have a tender place in my heart for Panda Mountain. Maybe I need to write a novel about it or something. :-D
