Default Name Feedback, please
I'm considering a couple of different names and was interested in what other think as you all seem to have great advice and are very thoughtful on the subject. I've done some searching on the web for similiarly named business and haven't really run across too much. I've also done some checking on domain availability.

1st Choice:
Branches Virtual Office Assistance
Possible tagline: A virtual branch of office support (or something to that effect)
Logo to include a tree with many branches
Blog: the virtual treehouse
(I'm a big fan of trees and photography of trees so this is the one that I'm partial to as it also has personal meaning to me.)

Next Choice:
Pacific Virtual Assistance
I haven't worked with this one as much as there was one VA site that I found that used Pacific in their name. I chose Pacific since I'm in the Pacific Northwest and it sounded official and business-like to me.

Next Choice:

DataBytes Virtual Assistance

I chose this one because I'm also going to be offering survey research, data collection/set-up, and analysis as part of my business. My concern with this one though is that it might give the impression that I'm more "data and research" and less about office/administrative support.

Any thoughts you all have would be much appreciated! Thanks.
Kimberly

Hmmm, good ideas here! Nice start

I really love trees too - so the 'branches' one caught me...but I was thinking immediately of "Branch out for success..." (just a rough idea that popped up)
The blog name is GREAT!

I also really like DataBytes - it has a catchy feel to it, is memorable, and has really neat marketing potential but I can't quite grab a tagline right off the bat.

I love the way that you described the trees. I think that if it has a certain significance to you...you should go for it. Not only will you be proud of it...but the ideas on branding will come so naturally. It sounds like you've put in a lot of thought into it already...and it ties in perfectly.

OK, you asked for it.
I suggest: continue to play with the tree thing, that has most potential (is your last name Branch?).
Pacific Virtual Assistance is really nice, and if it's actually available (trademark, domain name) maybe you should grab it.
NOT DataBytes (sorry, Tess) - unless databases are your sole focus, in which case it would be a great choice.
Good luck. Whatever you do, don't rush to name your business before you're ready .. you have many other things to work on and the name will come to you as you progress.

You mentioned that you live in Pacific Northwest. While I was in process of branding my business - I considered using Northwest Virtual Service. So maybe that's something you can consider? Northwest Virtual Assistance

I do like Branches a fair bit. I really do.

Best of luck I'll be interested in hearing your final decision on the branding name!

LOL Mary, fair enough! I thought it was cute...but now that I think more about it I think it would make a great name for a little internet cafe with delicious high-end snacks and espresso...and it would fit in so nicely on 23rd there in Portland

These are all great suggestions and I really appreciate your feedback. I've really been torn between a more 'creative' name versus a more business like name. I really like your tagline Tess for "Branch out for success."

And, actually, there is a little card/gift shop in Portland called Branches, which I also love, so I think that's also what gave me the idea.

There is already a VA agency called Northwest Assistance in eastern Oregon which is why I didn't consider a name with Northwest in it. Although I had considered 'PacNW Virtual Assistance' which would be a combination of Pacific & NW.

I agree about the DataBytes name as I was also thinking that it gave the idea of being more "data" oriented services.

And as someone said, there's plenty of other stuff to work on that can keep me busy. This was just something easy I could daydream about when bored at work. Ha!
