Yes, I did know. I signed up too! And, yes, I'd already checked into it. I totally understand after your run in with mr. office-furniture-man your sensitivity to the potential issue and I appreciate it!
No, I hadn't posted anything before but I did tell part of my story without revealing it all so here it is...
Somewhere around here there is a link to a fun little thing that generates taglines. I had a good time with it one day but didn't have anything really grab me. Within a few days I had this crazy moment in the middle of the night when "Office Vampire - Take a bite out of work!" actually woke me up! I don't me like a dream or something...I'm talking about a voice in my head kind of thing.
I immediately knew that vampire was too, well, vampy. I knew I didn't want my logo or website to be of a sensual nature and to me that is what a female vampire is - so I decided to skip it entirely. Within a couple hours in bed that night I had compiled a mental list of everything I could think of that bites. I had already spent several days working up a list of words and possible names but nothing really touched me. (Well, I really liked "Results Point" and it might work for someone else. If so, please feel free to use it.)
As far as the tag - does anyone remember that old public service announcement (US) that was a hound dog dressed like a private investigator and he always said, "Take a bite out of crime." Well, that tagline was pretty much dead on for me. I want to take a bite out of my niche's work!
My niche is pretty specific but, like most, I wouldn't turn work away just because the potential client wasn't in my niche! I came from an HR background and my most recent "love it!" job was in the developmental consultant arena (executive coaching, team building, etc.). I already have a long list of soloist consultants I've worked with in the past that I'm ready to start marketing to as soon as I get my business set up. I'll do client interactions, workshop material development, proofing, compiliation, shipping and the like. As with many soloists, my niche sees the value in spending a bit more time on sales rather than producing materials!
I know that is a lot of info for a simple "here is my logo!" thread but my personality type is an ESTJ so I can't let the details slip by! Probably way more than you needed to know, huh?
