Default Logo design
I've had my business website up for a few months now and decided I want to do a logo, but I have no idea where to get started doing one. I want to design it myself, so I was hoping there were a few of you out there on this fabulous forum that knew of any logo design websites that would help me to accomplish this.

Hi there ... check out www.cooltext.com or www.logomaker.com .... I haven't actually used either myself (although I did download some text based logos at one point but didn't actually use them on a site). They might be a good place to start. I'm sure some other people on here will have some good advice for you. Good luck!

You may want to check out the free sites listed above first, but if neither of those work for you, I was really happy with a Logo Creator software that I purchased for $20 at Office Depot. Looks like it's $30 if you buy it online. I know there are other softwares for sale if you have an Office Depot or Office Max nearby...you may want to check out their selection. I am definitely not a graphic arts person but I created what I think is a nice, professional logo with the Logo Creator.

Good luck!

Hi I can second the recommendation on using Brianna's services, she's just great. I just didn't suggest that first time around as you said you wanted to design the logo yourself. Definitely worth considering if you find what you come up with yourself isn't what you want to run with and especially if you want something that's beyond your own design capabilities. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I cheaped out and made my own in Word. It's just a simple one though and will do for now.

I just want to throw this out there..."will do for now" is a scary phrase for me to hear. Keep in mind that a logo is going to be your first impression a lot of the time. When you aren't around to give your "elevator speech," what is doing the talking? I'm not trying to push, but I do want to encourage you to solidify your image in the very beginning. Let your potential clients know who you are, and who you're going to be in the future.

I wholeheartedly agree. This is especially true with virtual or online businesses....your image is online is all they have (in most cases) initially. First impressions really can be everything.

I'm sorry I guess that did not come across the right way. It is not what I meant. I will be keeping my logo as is; however, being that I made it in Word, it isn't the easiest to work with and someday I hope to recreate it in a program that is actually designed to create pictures/logos, etc.

Oh, good Anita! I'm glad to hear that you're happy with it! That's what's most important! When you're ready for your redesign, check out the VA classifieds section!
