Here's another Newbie, requesting your input on what I've come up with for my business name and tagline (as I understand them). My unemployment extension is approaching the end, and I've become even more intent on starting this new chapter of my life in the midst of research it, including this helpful forum.

After spending a major part of yesterday in this section of the forum, with new members also trying to establish a name and tagline, my brain fizzled and I had to leave it until now to face it again. This name and tag occurred to me this morning after exercise class.

Ah-lleviation ~
Virtual Assistant to Lighten your Workload
Services available: Word processing, Proofreading/editing, Spreadsheets, Data management, Internet research, Transcription, Resume preparation, other (negotiable).

Thanks for your critiques. From what I've seen already, some of you have much more experience and can steer us novices in the right direction. (Sorry, in case this post doesn't look right; the system wouldn't allow me to preview it.)

Have you looked into domain names for your website? That would also be something to consider when choosing your name. Since you will be a Virtual Business, then your online presence is very important. Having a website name that is easy to remember helps.

You name does appear to be available with that spelling, so it seems like it would probably work.

I like that it's original and creative. I'm just wondering if that name alone would get across what kind of business you are. What about Ah-lleviation Virtual Assistance?- or something along those lines?

Thanks, Kimberly. Yes, I did check the availability of the domain name on Network Solutions, at least, since I do intend to get online.

I agree that your suggestion might be better; then, the tagline could just continue the thought, "To Lighten Your Workload" OR "To Ease Your Workload," (Lighten or East, defining "Alleviate"). I really appreciate your opinion. Being new to this, and intent on making a living at it, I'm a bit anxious about these crucial items. Glad to see I'm not alone in the initial "what to do's". Well, I'm back to square one, since I (and my kids) have concluded that "Ah-lleviation" might be too obscure a name to attract the majority of clients I might want. I'll check back with the Forum when I come up with another idea. Thanks for being here.
